Gedeo 766512 30ml 1-Piece Gilding Liquid, King Gold

I am pleased with the overall finish this product offers. If I were to describe the finished effect it would be matt and the colour of 22 ct gold (not the more yellow 9ct gold). I decorated an old metal 2 foot urn and used just over half the pot, I applied with a round stipple brush and there was no waste or drips. When you open the pot there is a liquid on the top which I stirred in and the texture appearance is that of gold leaf. I would recommend.

I used this to cover silver costume jewellery, it worked great just dipped my rings in with tweezers, the liqued is very watery so be careful when opening and using, it's a little yellowy for jewellery but i then coated in a gold nail polish and looks great, the bottle will last a lifetime, I'm pleased for what I needed it to do.

This is the pebeo gilding liquid, the brand isn't clearly mentioned in the product description so just wanted to point that out. The bottle needs to be shaken very well before using as it tends to separate into layers. So far it's worked as expected, I've used it on both glazed and unglazed ceramics. Doesn't come off after it's dried and looks to be waterproof even when painted on glazed ceramics.

So far I’ve only used this on stonecast plaster crafts and I love the way it goes on. A little goes quite a long way. It gives beautiful, rich coverage. A little dusty gold residue did transfer to my fingers slightly after drying, but no big deal. I sealed it with a clear matte acrylic spray and that solved that without changing the appearance of this gilding paint.

The colour is a little more on the rose side and comes out mat but still metallic. I was using it to touch up an old gold gilt frame, but as you can see from the photo it is not the same

Bought this to repaint the faded gold letters of our engraved slate house sign. Worked a treat as it's not too yellow, much more subdued and maybe more of a red/copper colour. 2-3 coats of the paint in the engraved letters, did't worry too much about being careful. Then when dry, clean up with wet and dry paper... Great result!!
