Needs frequent attention.
Purchased this product to deter squirrels from chewing my garage lead roof. I thought it would charge itself by solar and therefore could be left in position on the flat lead roof but the rotating head kept returning to different positions and therefore the solar panel was rarely in the correct position facing any sun. I got fed up keep climbing on the roof to retrieve the owl for charging so now don't bother using it.

Scares birds and Bonus Pest free yard
The owl is very realistic and the turning head makes it very effective. The glowing eyes are startling. The hoot is not realistic but it works. This is very sturdy and stands up to the weather from spring through fall. We do not leave it out in the winter. We move its position every day. When we noticed that we no longer had skunks, squirrels and rabbits eating our garden every night we were thrilled! I’m sure that moving it around the garden makes a huge difference. This is more than worth the price!

It works and is solar power works 24/7.
I have Ollie for two seasons now, guarding my Dahlias against squirrels. The first year, I took Ollie inside every night to charge up, but this year, I found that the all-day sun is enough to power the owl for 24 hours. Not sure if the squirrels are completely deterred, but I found that the squirrels did not raid my tubers or new sprouts like the year before I bought this owl. It works!

Disaster in Menomonee…..
I requested to return this item because it is ineffective. It seems to attract more birds than ever. I requested that my funds be returned to my account, instead I am being sent that item again. My instructions were clear..return and refund. The item does not work….!

So cute
The solar owl is made of plastic but is very high quality; it works perfectly and looks exactly like the photo. It also works perfectly after it rains. However, if you are looking to repel ducks, I do not recommend it; it is not designed to repel ducks
