lots of light for 20 watts
A bar labeled "mounting" screws across the electrical box. Around the center hole it's either convex or concave. The concave side should face out so that when you mount the light, it will help guide the end of the center screw to the hole. The instructions don't mention peeling the backing off the foam ring and sticking it in place. That will keep it out of the way and keep it in position to seal when you mount the light. I didn't know whether to stick it to the light or the electrical box. I stuck it to the light.I hooked a tarp strap into a loop to hang the light from the electrical box so the weight wouldn't be on the wires as I made the connections. I tried the included twist-on connectors and didn't like them. I used Gardner Bender Wing Guards. They are rated for 22-6 AWG. They have a spring that can expand, which allows me to screw them on farther for a more secure connection. You can recognize a wire nut with a live spring by the wide range of gauges it will accommodate. The Bucanan B-cap also has a live spring. It will accommodate 22-10 AWG.My light came with the sensor unit upside down so that rain water would have sat on the switch. To rotate it, I needed to loosen the clamp with a screwdriver. When I turned it on, a stopwatch was handy to see how long it stayed on. The sensitivity wasn't nearly what was advertised. That was to be expected. It was a hot day. My sweaty skin was probably about the same temperature as inanimate objects. After I switched it out of test mode, it wouldn't come on until it was dark enough to really need it. It provided much more light and a more even spread than the old unit with two incandescent floodlight bulbs. It lit a fence 60 feet away nicely. It provided useful security light to the far corner of the yard, 90 feet away.As I approached from the front, it came on at 30 feet. As I approached from 60 degrees off center, it came on at 10 feet. The temperature was 75, and the damp skin on my arms, neck, and face, felt cool to my palm. That could account for the low sensitivity.I didn't understand all the instructions about testing and operation. I read that the motion detector works best in a certain speed range. An infrared motion detector isn't entirely reliable. It would be dandy to plug the light into a remote control outlet. By cycling the power, I could light up the yard on demand. Cycling it again would return it to automatic operation.

Don't let the low price fool you
This is an excellent unit, especially for the very low cost. I replaced a much more expensive unit that had issues with the sensor setting the light off when it shouldn’t. This unit is as bright, the sensor works very well and the cost is about half what I paid at Lowes for one of their units. It was easy to install considering it was a replacement. A note about this process: the metal ring it screws into had a different thread size than the older one. I made the mistake of wring it up before I released this. I should have simply started the install by using the SUPPLIED ring instead. My fault. So my tip is, use all the parts supplied in the kit.

Some installation issues.
Three things make this unit less than perfect. First, the instructions are barely English to the extent that it took guessing to get the meaning. And the instructions were too brief. I was especially frustrated that the light mentioned having a "manual mode" but did not tell the user how to enter this mode. I assume you toggle the light switch. Second, the sensor was attached to the base upside down, and when I pivoted the sensor to the correct position, it loosened and was unstable. I had to remove a round metal plate that covers the inner workings in the main base to gain access to the nut that tightens the sensor in the correct position. The instructions say nothing about this, but they do warn the user not to remove the protective plate. Third, there is a rubber stopper that is supposed to plug the hole that the center screw is in. The stopper I got was too small for the hole, and not just a little. If you put it in the hole, it immediately fell out.Having said all that, why am I giving it four stars? It is very bright (seems almost as bright as my previous unit that had a 200 watt halogen bulb) and the sensor has good range, at least as good as is claimed. The case is all painted metal; it's a nice looking unit. Now that its installed, I am happy with it. I would buy it again.

Bright and Easy To Install
I usually don't write reviews but I was motivated to do so by this product. This light blows my old one away. It was a snap to install and I had it up and going in about 15 minutes. Tip: use the metal crossbar enclosed with the unit and don't try to use the old one already installed or the screw may not thread properly. I bought this to light up my yard for my small dog (15 lbs) and the motion detection is excellent. It picks her up even at her tiny size. It is extremely bright and the light can be positioned at multiple angles. Very happy with this purchase.

good floodlight
Can't beat this floodlight at this price, my local hardware store sells similar one for around $50 so this is pretty much almost half off. Straight forward installation, no hiccups at all. The package includes all necessary items such as: screws and wire-nuts, junction box's weather proof foam seals, etc... I set the range knobs at the middle and it can detects anything that moves within about 30 feet of the sensor area which is great because I don't want it to detect movements from too far away and keep triggering the light on/off all the time. Light output is very bright for LED. It's very affordable and works really well.Update 10/3: light just suddenly dead now, wasn't expecting that at all.
