These are to be used on a home made wood mill some day. In the mean time they get to be part of my hoarded collection of stuff I dream of using some day. From what I can tell they are well made because they are heavy and they spin nicely. They look wonderful and fit well in my packed garage of stuff.

This not just a V-Groove wheel but a great pulley
I was tired of buying snatch block pulleys and watching them break. Even the cheap ones are $50. A guy I worked for was a third-generation owner of fence company. On an offroad vehicle, his winch cable had a winch block on it I had not seen before. It was one of these slide gate wheels. One of his fabricators welded a lifting eye to the box, like the one this comes in. The guy gave me one and it lasted. Somehow, mine grew legs and walked out of my life. The guy sold the business. So, I was on my own.Bless Amazon. There it was, the exact item I needed. I ordered two. The lifting eye bolts are on their way and I will have my son weld them up. Bearings seized up
Ordered two wheels. Right out of the box one of the wheels does not turn. The bearings are seized up solid. The other appears to roll ok. Makes me question the long-term reliability. Returned the bad wheel. Fingers crossed the replacement will work.

Heavy duty
This Sidco gate wheel has an inverted v in the wheel to glide down a track. The box is bent into shape and it is raw steel ready for welding in place and the box ends should be welded also. The wheel has sealed double bearings that need no servicing. The wheel has a black coating to protect it from the elements.

Smooth gliding wheels!
After about a month and a half now I've had to do 0 matinace for these wheels. my warehouse sliding gate opens and closes 20 times a day and had bearing seizures on other wheels before I'm so happy to see these will be with us for the long haul!
