Normally great, but once Bottle was not sealed and leaking when arrived
Normally I like this product and I am a repeat buyer, but this time the manufacturer’s quality control was poor and the liquid leaked out into the bag during shipping. And this stuff stinks even when it’s fresh so you can imagine how it smelled after leaking and being warm for several days in the packaging. This had nothing to do with shipping, the bottle was intact and they always do a fabulous job packaging it in multiple layers of bubble wrap, which also helped in the case because it held most of the liquid in. It was just poor production. And it’s non-returnable so I had a difficult time figuring out how to go about getting a refund, but I did finally figure it out. So five stars for how this product normally is, but I’m taking away a star since it isn’t a consistently reliable product.

Fish go crazy for these
I have guppies, shrimp and a Betta. They all go crazy for the mosquito larvae. There’s no odor either. I keep them in the fridge.

Came expired
Didn't realize it was expired and I've been feeding it to my betta. She's now really sick and I don't know if there is a correlation. She does love the food though. I do keep it refrigerated. I guess I'll have to throw it out.

Wiggly Treats: My Fish Love These Black Mosquito Larvae!
This product has good and bad points. First, my fish love this almost-live food. In fact, I have bought it 16 times in the last year and a half.I put a good amount of larvae in the tank, and the tiger barbs and Danios will make it disappear in seconds.Your fish will love these larvae too, but since the product comes from Thailand there is an occasional problem. 1. The last time I received the bottle of larvae, it wasn't sealed, and the contents had spoiled. I think this happened one other time. 2. One bottle arrived broken. I'm 99% certain it was either Amazon or the post office that did this. 3. Amazon has a no-refund policy on this product. If you get it and there's a problem, you have to live with it. 4. Be aware that it needs to be refrigerated. In fact, after the jar has been open for a week, I freeze it. Then when I feed my fish, I throw a little water in in the jar, swirl it around, and out pop the larvae.5. I always, always give the larvae a good rinse in cold water. I put them in a baby brine shrimp net and rinse until no more foam appears. I don't know what the liquid is that the larvae come in, but I don't want it in my fish tank. Anyway, take the issues into account. I still recommend it, and it is still worth it to feed this "almost live" food to your fish. I will continue to buy these larvae.P.S.
