Q: Can I assesmble this into 1 solid piece, that can sit on top of 2 trestle legs?

I'm not sure what a trestle leg is, but I think that it will need some support under the middle section as well. This item is three separate pieces that are only connected by four small metal plates with screws.

Q: Does anyone know if this can be cut in half length wide?

It is already 3 pieces so I don’t know why you’d want to cut it in half. They sell smaller tops if that is what you are looking for. You could also buy this one and leave the middle piece out and have a smaller desk.
