Significant usability upgrades over Gen 1. Great for portability, but keep your external speakers
Having used the 1st generation of The Freestyle, I was curious to see if the Gen 2 lived up to the hype. After testing it in various environments, here is my objective comparison and experience:• Improved Performance: The most noticeable upgrade is the interface speed. The Gen 1 often felt sluggish, but the Gen 2 is much more responsive. The auto-focus and auto-keystone sensors are still top-tier and incredibly convenient—true "set it and forget it" functionality.• Design & Portability: This is where the Freestyle still dominates. Compared to traditional, bulky projectors, its aesthetics and portability are unmatched. It’s light enough to move around the house or take on trips without any hassle.• Picture Quality: As shown in the attached video, it's still not intended for bright environments. However, in a dark room, the picture quality is excellent even when projected directly onto a plain wall without a dedicated screen.• The Downside - Audio: Despite being a "Gen 2," the built-in speaker hasn't seen a significant leap. It’s functional for casual YouTube clips, but for a true cinematic experience, the audio lacks depth and bass. I highly recommend pairing it with an external Bluetooth speaker or soundbar.Verdict: If you can catch this at a discount, it's a solid upgrade from Gen 1. It’s the perfect lifestyle projector for those who value convenience and design over a permanent home theater setup.

Surprisingly good.
Relatively simple setup. It auto-adjusts seamlessly. When we first turned it one we just pointed it straight up at the ceiling. Our textured walls and ceiling are white but smooth enough that any blank space becomes a backdrop for it. We bought a screen, but the walls actually seem to work better. Super portable. We move it around constantly and it quickly recalibrates for color, angle, etc.Once it's on your wifi you've got instant access to tons of tv- it's like having an old school cable box built in. Bright enough that you probably should not use 100% brightness level at night for eye health, but like all projectors, it doesn't work well if there's much ambient light. It won't work outdoors while the sun is up.The audio is even pretty great- good enough that we don't feel the need to connect Bluetooth speakers when we move it around. There's a fan that makes a faint whirring noise. I dropped it hard right as I opened the package, but the little fella seems pretty durable so far. I haven't tried gaming on it yet, if I do I may send an update. So far it's exceeded my expectations.

Nice portable projector
First time projector buyer here. A friend of mines spoke highly of this projector so I decided to do my due diligence. I saw mixed reviews on YouTube and was pretty hesitant about purchasing it. However I went through and purchased due to word of mouth and I must say that I’m impressed. For one the picture quality is pretty good. Physically it feels durable and weighted nicely. The most important thing to mention is its portability! You can literally set this up anywhere! And I mean anywhere. The picture auto keystones really quick and easy. The brightness could be better in my opinion. It’s useable for my needs but if you are a person who is critical on brightness with movies and tv shows then I’d say to search for something else. For a portable projector it’s perfect and I think it’s worth mentioning that the bigger more stationary projectors can produce more brightness rather than a smaller more portable one. The sound is decent if you don’t have a Bluetooth speaker setup. It’s not Harman Kardon quality but it’s enough to get what you need out of it. I’m sure there are better sounding projectors but again, this is a small portable projector. Also there is no built in battery so you must buy a battery pack if you don’t plan on plugging it into the wall. 25k MAh is ok but I would recommend something with more juice. I can probably watch a little over an hr with the 25k mah setup. Other than that I keep it plugged into the wall. It doesn’t over heat which is good and the remote seems very responsive. All in all I’m happy with it’s capabilities. This projector is really for portability. If you want an imax experience than I’d recommend something else.

Device suddenly bricked - won't power on. Repair costs hundreds of dollars!
There was a lot to like about this projector at first - especially the auto-focus and auto-keystone adjustments. Great brightness and picture quality. But the software is annoying. It insists on resuming playback the moment you turn it on, even if you turned it off while in the menu. No option to change that behavior. Also, no ability to stream from a local network-attached storage. These are nuisances I could have put up with. But then... it just bricked itself. It stopped powering on at all - neither with the remote nor the touch interface on the projector. I've seen many reports from others encountering the same issue. And since this happened a mere 5 months past the warranty, they're charging half the price of a brand new unit to repair it! Had I known, I would not have purchased.Nice form factor and image quality. Lousy software. Unreliable and expensive to fix. Do not buy.

Great Value for Price (Open Box At Least)
I bought this product via "open box" and ended up getting it for almost half the price. I don't think I'd ever pay full price for this projector, but for around $500 it was a steal. The first time setting it up was great, however the second time, we couldn't get the internet to connect and it also wouldn't register a second time with SmartThings. Not exactly sure what it's issue was, but we weren't having trouble with any other devices.Overall, it's a really good projector though. It has lots of great features, and we really feel at home with the UI since we also own a Samsung TV for our living room. The sound on it is great, but its also very user friendly for external blue-tooth speakers. We were even able to connect multiple speakers at one time!Go ahead and get yourself an "open box" version of this thing or wait until it goes on sale. You won't regret it!

Indoor movie theater!
Love it! Looks great, like having a personal movie theater in my house. Speakers sound good for what it is. I chose to use my sound bar anyways just for added bass.Screen size up to 100" and still clear, once you mess with the settings you can have a great looking projector screen.

Great Projector, bang for buck when on sale!
Bought Used Like New for $350. Total steal! Great picture quality and decent sound. Love the Keystone correction settings. Just remember to buy a micro HDMI adapter for it if you intend on having an input.

Duró muy poco tiempo.
El aparato tienen muy poco tiempo de vida y ya no enciende, se quemo el ventilador y por ende varios componentes, no se hacen cargo de la garantía.
