Never think to use equipment until I brought this carving. Pumpkins have never been easier.

So much easier to carve pumpkins with this kit than standard kitchen knives. We were able to create some really detailed designs.

This is a cool set that can be used not just for pumpkins, but all kinds of fruit. The steel itself is decently thick which is impressive for the price, and with a large variety of tools with all kinds of different purposes it means halloween carving is much easier!The handles feel a little on the cheaper side as they are lightweight and have this obvious "stuck together from each side" plastic feel, but they are thick, they're not flexing or cracking from the use that I've given them so far so I don't really have much to complain about in the end.Some of the blades have a protector on them because they have a very sharp edge, even sharper than some of my kitchen knives, while others have serrated edges. Age verification is required at the door on delivery. While the description mentions it being designed so that children can use it whilst supervised, I wouldn't consider this suitable for children at all even with strict supervision...It also comes with a couple of printed stencils on paper, though they're a bit on the awkward side to use since the paper is thin and already folded up.

I liked how it comes in a handy zip bag for storage but the spoon snapped on the first scoop!

This is really a great little kit if you are into all things Halloween like my family. The cutting set arrived in its own, zipped canvas-like bag with a hanging strap at one end. The bag contained 7 cutting implements, a small instruction sheet (User Manual) and 10 sheets of different designs to use as guides when cutting. Each implement was in its own cellophane bag and some had protective coverings on the blades - they are very sharp. Each blade is fixed inside its handle and seem rigid and safe. All the handles are shaped close to the blades with an indentation for your index finger and a textured area for your thumb, presumably for safety to help your hand from sliding towards the blades when cutting. I think these need to be hand washed for the sake of safety, rather than in a dishwasher. There are no pumpkins available in local shops at the moment so I had a quick cut of an apple. My son is the carver in this house and my attempts are derisory but I can confirm the knives are sharp and accurate and I'm sure they will be of great use come Halloween. I'm not sure how useful the design guides will be but I expect they will be useable for only one pumpkin each before they start to degrade. The cutters could be used for other crafts throughout the year such as air-dry clay modelling or anything that needs small, cutting implements. It is not the sort of thing I would have normally considered but I think it is well worth the money and I'm happy to recommend it.Edited to add a photo of the pumpkins the kids did last night. They had great fun.
