I honestly do not know . . . .
I don't know what these do to liquids. Or if they make a difference. I think the do. I've used them for water and wine. I think I've been able to tell a difference between what sat on them and what did not.Which is why I'm slightly obsessed with using them. I put a bottle of water on them at night to use for my coffee the next morning. I have a larger water bottle (1/2 gallon) that I'm constantly filling from for my to-gos.I experimented with cheap boxed red wine - one glass on, the other not. I think I could taste a difference. But who knows? Placebo effect?Either way, I have 2 and have a bottle of water on both at all times.

There *is* a difference, but not that much
I was dubious when I ordered these coasters. I tried doing some research into the 'science' behind them, but came up fairly empty. My husband and I set up two tests (we got two coasters). We used small, clear juice glasses to hold the liquids. Two glasses held bottled spring water, and two held lemonade. One of each beverage went on a coaster for these tests. After five minutes, we each tasted the water that was on the coaster. Then we tasted the water NOT on the coaster. There was a slight but noticeable difference in taste between the two, with the coaster water having the more pleasant flavor. Same thing with the lemonade, but to a lesser degree. Yep. We were surprised. The product information states that the longer the liquid sits on the coaster, the more pronounced the improvement is, so for our next test, we did a blind tasting.About 40 minutes later, I sat in another room while my husband brought me two glasses at a time. First, both waters. Then, both lemonades. I was not made aware of which glasses had been sitting on the coasters. I tasted them (water first, then lemonade) then made my guess as to which glasses had been sitting on the coasters.I was very certain with the water, and I was correct. The lemonade was harder, and I sipped a few times. I made my guess -- not feeling much conviction -- and I was wrong. My husband is going to try this with some form of alcohol soon, and I will update this review once that happens. At the end of the day, there is definitely something to this. My husband and I both agree that it made a definitely discernible difference with the water. Less so with the lemonade. But was it a 'wow moment', such as the reactions in the videos I've seen? Not for us. Did we notice a difference that would make us grab these coasters before drinking all our beverages? We did not.It would be fun to try these tests with a group of friends or at a party. For us, it's just not enough to fuss with it in our daily lives.[This is a review for BOCE Coaster, Enhance The Taste of Your Drink in 3 Minutes - Taste Enhancing Drink Coaster, Beverages Go from Good to Great - Works with Water, Alcohol, Coffee - Made in The USA (Acrylic, 2-Pack) B0BZKSHFTW]

Water - NO. Alcohol - YES!
I tried this for a full 24 hours with water. Did not work. At all. I wanted it to work. I had two other people test the water. They could not distinguish a difference. So I did some online research into the company and how this works and I found this snippet: "The secret lies in the fact that the coaster is made from a specific proprietary color that perfectly replicates the energy of rainwater to match its wavelengths and frequencies. This helps reduce oxidation and increases aeration in drinks, backed by lab results, giving them a noticeably smoother taste."This made me roll my eyes. It seems to say the COLOR ITSELF is working the magic - or in the case of water, lack of magic.Then... I tried it with fireball. And it worked. It was a definite improvement, making it taste smoother and much less harsh. So now, either I believe in magic colors or there is something other than the color that accounts for the change. I have no idea. I just can vouch for it working with alcohol. All the reading and sleuthing online I did suggest this is ideally meant to be used with alcohol and not non-alcoholic beverages.Bottom line... fun experiment. Great conversation piece at parties. But seems more gimmick than practical because if you don't like the taste of alcohol you don't drink alcohol - and there is no need for this... or if you do like alcohol this makes it taste slightly smoother. So I'd say if you have the extra money, drink a lot, and are interested - get this. Otherwise, you can skip it.

Well..... We tested these some noticed a difference, others didn't
These are fun as a conversation piece at a cocktail party. Fun to have people put their drinks on for 3+ minutes and do taste tests. I didn't notice a difference, some people did and some didn't.... Its fun so you should get a set of these to give it a go.

Not sure I could tell a difference
I tried the taste test recommended and am not sure I could tell a difference. However, since this is easy to use - I place all drinks just in case it's improving the quality of the drink. It does make for a nice coaster, as drinks don't stick to it and keeps the drinks from leaving rings on table tops.
