McIgIcM 60pcs 8pin IC Sockets DIP IC Sockets Adaptor Solder Type Socket

Thedr came exactly as I expected and I've even been able to snip em down to smaller sizes for socketing other components (give or take a pin here or there, seeing as they aren't manufactured for that anyhow). This was a killer deal to me. No complaints. Only happy time noises. I bought these to make and repair guitar effects pedals. Well, that and my self-aware, all-destroying, giant pink teddy bear robot to take over, enslave, and sterilize the world.But mainly the pedals.

Wow!! I was looking for a set of DIP sockets and Wass only finding the cheaper ones with stamped pins at any reasonable price. Then I saw the picture for these and noticed that they had the round, sturdy pins, and I figured it had to be a mistake. NOPE! These are the real deal! They feel great, the pins feel extremely stable, and they work very well. Folks, this is a steal!

what they're supposed to do. They fit breadboards and PCB, including fitting the many brands of solder breadboards. Can't get along without. Used this brand in around 40 projects without a connection issue, I'd recommend these IC sockets.

I used these in a test project that I replaced the IC about 6 times and lost continuity on 2 pins. I wouldn't consider these in a circuit that requires a lot of chip swaps.

Much better than the non-rounded sockets.

Would be nice if these where offered in a gold plated version, but I know these are just fine.Nice looking part, very tight fit for the I/C pins.

sturdy and can take the heat, to a point but better than the ones i bought before.. I will reorder when needed.

Half the time I just cut them up to use the nicely-milled pin sockets.
