Fantastic for Protein Shakes
Hi folks,I was looking for a product that I could make my protein shakes to have after my workout. I have a smoothie maker already but as I head for the gym at 6:30am I was looking for something to make it quickly and with as little mess as possible and the smoothie maker took too long and was a nightmare to clean so half the time I just skipped the shake. That's where this product excelled. My shakes are prepared very quickly and the clean up time is seconds. The attachment with the blade in the jug is exactly what I required. As the product is so convenient to use I find I'm using it all the time now when cooking and there's no task I've come across that it can't handle (bearing in mind I'm no master chef!!!)No cables, battery is always fully charged when you need it, VERY easy to clean and extremely versatile plus it looks quite good on the worktop as far as hand blenders go. A highly recommended product.

Damaged on arrival. A constant battle for reimbursement of the total amount. With my partner being an amazing chef and moving forward with kitchen appliances this has been the biggest disappointment. Will consider any other option than using Amazon again.

Good but ...
The main stick blender is certainly solid & very efficient. OK, as others have commented can be a bit fiddly getting it on to the charger, it is, but not that big a deal. The chopper bowl is a very helpful bit of kit. So I thought for convenience I would buy another as sometimes want to process different ingredients in the same cooking session without the fuss of washing out bowl & chopper. My other slight concern was that this chopper assembly seemed rather flimsy & likely to fail – either the coupling unit or cracking the bowl – partly because of the inevitable disproportionate weight of the battery unit related to the attachment. I then discover that a replacement coupling unit isn't obtainable. Anywhere, including from Philips. Leaving me thinking they do fail. I then look at the (5) user reviews on the Philips site. Someone has had exactly this problem.About 10 weeks ago I set up on the Philips website an automated "email me when it's back in stock" service. Checking just now not even listed as unavailable. The only accessory listed for this product is the blender bar. & That's currently unavailable. So, I rather fear that despite spending quite a lot of money on a reputable brand product I will in due course be stuffed. I suppose simply need to be careful with it. Might be labelled "aluminium" but the problems seem to be basic plastic & availability of parts. Not what I expected.

Cordless... stainless steel... top quality item.
Have owned it for a couple of YEARS now... only use the main hand blender... still works a treat, still looks as good as the day I git it... and love the fact it's cordless.

fiddly chargeing connection
very powerful blender and chopper ample for all my needs. there isn't a whisk attachment with this which i actually don't miss because the blender is powerful and does the jobs i would use the whisk for- one less piece of kit to find a space for i suppose. the safety catch is a good idea and it's great to be cord free.there are a couple of gripes though. firstly the lid of the chopping unit doesn't click into place like the lid on my food processor and i don't know if that would ever become a safety issue; and secondly when i hang it back on it's holder i have to jiggle it about to establish the connection for it to recharge which can be fiddly and irritatingat half price it's definitely worth buying

Fab bit of kit!
I've been after a cordless hand blender for ages after seeing the Bosch Mixxo cordless (only avail in USA at present) but got the Philips as it was such a low price on Amazon recently. Basically I didn't want wires trailing all over the place to blend soups in a pan and have got fed up with having to use the Kenwood Chef liquidiser attachment, and all the washing up that entails.Put the Philips to the test with a Spicy Tomato and chickpea soup with an excellent result; perfectly even consistency and no lumps at all. Next tried some roasted peanuts using the XL chopper for sticky asian pork burgers, again, even results in no time. Not tried the ice crushing blade yet but expect that to be good too!?While I agree with the other reviewer that the charging connection may need a 'fiddle' or two, I feel that this is the only down side to what is a good solid, nicely 'weighted', easy to use piece of kit, that sits comfortably in the hand and does a superb job. Furthermore, the XL chopper is larger than my Kenwood Mini Chopper so I should be able to do the breadcrumbs for hubby's breadsauce (yuck!) in one go not 2 or 3. Next attempt will be Hollandaise which should also be easier, quicker and less messy than the liquidiser (I hope). As I say in the title, FAB, and I'm very impressed with it.
