Midwest Outdoors

If you fish or hunt in the Midwest US, for as little as this costs, and the volume of tips, tricks and good info it has...you have to buy it. If your hunting and fishing friends find out that you looked at this and didn't buy it...they are going to point at you and laugh (rightfully so).If your outdoorsman friends have never seen this magazine and you keep referencing it in conversation, (and you will, trust me, you will), and you're outfishing them 10-to-1, just give them one of your copies to look through. They will bow before your feet for introducing them to it. You will become the coolest person they've ever known. They'll ask you to autograph the first copy they get in the mail when they subscribe (and they will, trust me, they will), but best of all, the next time you guys go out for beer, they'll probably buy for you all night.Although, you may enjoy out-fishing them 10-to-1 so you don't tell them about it. You won't get the accolades, they won't ask for your autograph, they'll be mean and spiteful because because you make them look bad, they'll be completely jealous of you...but that may be better than a night night of free beer for you. I totally understand that! ;)

Ok on the down side, this is not really in your traditional “magazine” form like you see in their picture. It’s more like a newspaper. So if you want the nice looking shiny magazine you can forget that. Plus side there’s a lot of info.

Midwest Outdoors is an excellent magaizine for the outdoorsman. The articles are written by people that actually fish, hunt in these locations. I personally have fished in a couple of the location and remembered the techniques they used, tried them and they produced fish equal too or even bigger than what was in the article. This magazine is also centered around the areas that i live and fish in so that makes it realistic for me that i do and can go to these areas, where as with some magazines there is no way i will ever go there or let alone have a chance to hunt or fish. All in all this is a quality magazine with quality writers that can get there point or story across in a manner that the common person can understand

I was disappointed. This is a newspaper format NOT a magazine format. What I received didn't match the picture shown in their description.

bought for a public library so we can keep the locals happy. I opted for a magazine as apposed to a book for nonfiction on fishing so there will be a new one coming for them to read instead of one book about fishing
