I was never able to install the part but it is not the fault of the manufacturer of the part. The Samsung refrigerator is the issue. I tried to thaw and remove the inner back center panel to install the part but the refrigerator has so much ice buildup behind the panel that I was concerned that I would not be able to remove the panel without destroying the styrofoam insulation and I stopped trying to install the part. We held on the the refrigerator for about another 2 years until the ice buildup from the poor design of the refrigerator got to be too much of an irritant. If you have time to let the refrigerator thaw for an extended length of time, the part would likely work very well. I have not issues with this part. My only issues are with the manufacturer of the refrigerator.

This was a perfect fix for my Samsung fridge drain freezing up. I ended up having to cute a small part off of it because it was too long and wouldn’t fit down the drain all the way but other than that, it was very easy to install and the fridge has been working great ever since.

I just watched a few YouTube videos on installation. If you're having iced up areas in your fridge this is what you need to replace in the Samsung Series I had. The hardest part is you need to defrost the refrigerator for several days before taking it apart. Other than that it's just removing a few things. Simple.

Our residential size Samsung side by side refrigerator with bottom freezer in our 5th wheel RV was collecting water every day in the bottom of the refrigerator section. I was unaware it was collecting until it would freeze the vegetable drawer to the bottom and would not open without completely emptying bottom of fridge and defrosting. After investigating online from a RV forum, I learned of this part that installs in the back panel of the fridge section that corrects the factory part that is too small to drain the water away as it supposed to. We found a video in the forum and replaced it ourselves with minor challenges. Now there is no more water collection and I’m no longer ready to through the fridge out!!

It's a catch 22 to install. The stem is long and makes it difficult to install. You have to get the instrument over the heat exchanger element so it will hang on the the heat element and properly fit in the drainage hole. The length of the stem is necessary for the drainage to work. Just have to take your time with it. Better than getting a new fridge. Samsung should fix this rudimentary problem.
