Better than gauze pads
4/2/2026 Update: Still have all but the 2 that the snaps came off of. These really are very durable and handle lots of washes well. I started noticing the pads holding some of the stains and realized it was because I was washing in warm or hot water. Sometimes the area around the PEG tube gets irritated and may bleed. If the pads become soiled with blood, use cold water to wash instead of hot because hot water basically cooks the blood onto the material. If you want to sanitize them in hot water, make sure you wash any with blood in cold water first to get the blood out. I rewashed the ones I thought were ruined in cold water and the blood came right out. Also, I no longer use Clorox or detergent in the jar to pre-soak. I find Active Enzyme Laundry Booster with a little Dawn dish soap works better at keeping the odor neutralized until I wash them. These are so much better than disposable gauze. Saves money. Just keep the used ones in a jar with some detergent and/or Clorox with water until you wash them. I pour them into a laundry bag over the washing machine then run then wash them in warm, and sometimes hot, water with our white towels. Have had them for a year and only had 2 of the snaps separate so far. Plus we don’t have to tape them down like with gauze which can lead to skin irritation.

Great item and really like, but 1 drawback.
I love these to use on my son's g-tube. They really help with the leaking he gets. The only thing we don't like is the snap. It's bulky, weights the cover down in an odd way, and is extremely hard to unsnap. I won't even try to unsnap it to get it off his button, I will just maneuver it off because I'm afraid if I try to unsnap, I will end up pulling on this g-tube. I wish they came with a Velcro closure option, I would get those in a heartbeat! PLEASE MAKE A VELCRO CLOSURE OPTION!
