It does state on the description - "Ideal for hard ground. Steel peg with orange nylon head, peg length 20.5cms"

Are they hard to pull out of hard ground

I had no difficulty pulling them out of stony ground. The plastic tops are sufficient grip.

Are these solid metal pegs or hollow type?

Solid.. very strong would definitely recommend!

What is the diameter of the pegs please? I need to fit them through a 5mm hole in a bracket

think they are about 7-8 mm dia best to make hole bigger if needed. A solid peg approx 8 mm Dia and 150 mm long, large flouaressant plastic head.
