Will not release unless pressed firmly against surface - part of safety feature - Also check to make sure cartridge is installed properly

I'm not really sure if this is what you are asking, if you mean, does it go on when they're pressure gets low, and then off when the correct pressure is reached, then the answer would be yes

It does drive the nails thru the wood...it took me two practice nails & adjusting the compressor to get the depth I needed! Good choice.
