A Wonderful, Spooky Little Gadget
Every once in a while something comes along that gives me a chill when I think of its ramifications. This is such an object. It functions well, is so small and light you donโt even know itโs in your pocket. For those who donโt know, it basically snatches rfid codes (the kind the fob on your keychain sends to your apartment lock) and can copy them to blank fobs that can be purchased on Amazon. This can save you the Lost Key Fee your building manager will charge for replacing your lost fob, which is good, but it can also be used on the sly to steal your fob, and you may never even know it happened. Itโs fun, fascinating and has multiple uses. Itโs attractive and seems well made. If youโre in the market, this is a great deal from this seller.

OEM or OEM quality
Works great, HF and LF. No discernible differences from my legit OEM Chameleon. And to all the simple souls in the reviews complaining about how theirs "came with three cards and must be used!!!11", check out the docs: "On a new Chameleon (or after a factory reset), 3 slots are defined, slot 1 holding both a HF and a LF: slot 1 LF: a EM4100 with UID DEADBEEF88 slot 1 HF: a MIFARE Classic 1k with UID DEADBEEF slot 2 HF: a MIFARE Classic Ultralight with UID 04689571FA5C64 slot 3 LF: a EM4100 with UID DEADBEEF88"

Great hardware, capable tool, just be ready to hit the forums
I picked this up for tinkering with RFID cards in my home lab and learning how the tech works, and for that it has been a great little device. The hardware is the standout. The fob feels genuinely well made and solid in the hand. One thing worth flagging: mine did not come with a rubber cover, and I have seen other listings that include one. That is more of a seller packaging thing than a knock on the device, but if you want a cover, plan to source it separately. In use it works well and has reliably handled the cards I have thrown at it. I did manage to get it into a weird state once and had to reflash it to recover, but that was a one-off and it has been stable otherwise. Battery life is good, it goes a long time between charges. The software is where you should set expectations. There is a real learning curve, and more than once I had to look things up on forums to figure out what I was doing. It all works once you get the hang of it, but it does not hold your hand. The documentation is the genuine weak point, thin enough that the community forums end up being your actual manual. If you are comfortable tinkering and do not mind some reading to get going, the hardware is excellent and the tool delivers. If you want plug-and-play with a polished manual, this is not that

Easy to use
Amazing little device. Stupid simple to use. A novice could use it. The app is awesome as well.

HF works great, LF doesnโt work at all.
It worked with HF cards very well. However it didnโt work with LF cards at all even though it advertises it can. I never got it to read a single LF 125khz card. If it could do that, then it would have been a useful device to consolidate all my cards into one.

Didn't work
Didn't work. Seemed to have some cards loaded. Would not scan cards. RF light only came on when selecting scan HF card, no light for scan LF card. Scan always said no card present. Would not connect with USB but would with Bluetooth which is supposed to be off by default. Long press to read card didn't work. Basically product was broken and non functional.
