Sehr nützlich, wenn man öfters englisch Gartenfachliteratur liest. Sehr umfangreich, allerdings findet man nicht alle Pflanzen (Klatschmohn?).Leider war bei Lieferung der Schutzumschlag beschädigt, deshalb nur 4 Sterne.

この辞書には，世界の20000種以上の植物名を収録している。植物の属の名をアルファベット順に配列し，各属名の下に種小名をアルファベット順に配列している。属名の項にはその属が所属する科名が記されている。また，種数が示されていて，属の大きさが分かり便利である。属・種小名には英・独・仏名が付されている。地理的分布，生育習性，草本・樹木のタイプ，耐寒性，開花期，薬効・毒性，香りなどの情報が簡潔な略号，記号で示されている。また，巻末には学名の命名者リスト，参考書リスト，参考となるインターネットサイト一覧なども示されていて便利である。本書は，'Zander Handw'rterbuch der Pflanzennamen' （初版1927年，ドイツ）の第18版（2008）の　Allen Coombes 編集による英語版（2009）である。この原書は著名で世界的権威のある植物学者のチームによって改訂・増補が重ねられ，アップデートで洗練された辞書に成長してきた。本書は英語版となって使用場面を著しく広げたといえる。本書に収録されている情報は，断片的には日本語の図鑑や参考書からも得られるが，植物の包括的な情報を得るにはとても便利な辞書で，私の座右の書となっている。
