It’s not real wood. It’s wrapped particle board. Mine came chipped and the wrapping was warped.

If you are expecting a solid walnut tray you will be disappointed because it isnt solid walnut.
I bought 2 of these. When reading the description I expected to receive trays made of solid walnut. They arent. They are made of a composite type substance like MDF and covered in a walnut like veneer. I know this because I drilled into them to screw hair pin legs on them to use as 2 small tables. Since I drilled into them I felt obligated to keep them so I did not return them. All that being said, they do look pretty nice and for the price point they are a decent deal. Just dont expect solid walnut like I did.

The Tray is exactly as described and pictured. Very well made and sturdy and perfect for the size of my ottoman. It seems to have a coating that makes it easy to wipe clean. A little pricey but worth it for the quality and appearance.
