Electric Kettle - 1.7L Hot Water Boiler - Stainless Electric Tea kettle with Water Window, Auto Shut-Off and Boil-Dry Protection

I’ve been hooked on an electric kettles for at least 10 or more years now. I’ve had 2 very expensive ones fail within 2-3 years and at $90 a pop, you can fool me once but not a second time. Amazon had a huge assortment to choose from and this one was “on sale” at the time I was looking. Very few reviews but all seemed rather positive. I like the all stainless interior, so far it’s been reliable. It’s a basic, no extra BS kettle. If you’re looking for digital buttons and various temp settings, this would not be the one you’re looking for. Also like that the utterly ridiculous name isn’t plastered all over the kettle itself. Rather sleek and minimalist looking without names and symbols stuck all over it. Owners manual is almost a joke. You plug it in, fill with water and depress the little chrome lever near the bottom and a blue light comes on to tell you it’s heating. Approx 6 mins later it shuts itself off-done. If it lasts at least as long as my expensive B******e model, I will only endure 1/2 the loss

I know people in other countries make fun of us Americans for heating water in the microwave. I definitely have no problems with the microwave, or with using a stovetop kettle, but now that I got this electric kettle, I understand a little bit of why they make fun of us.This kettle makes it so easy to heat water, whether for one cup of pour-over coffee or a whole pot of tea. Just fill it up, press the switch, and in about 7 minutes you have about 4-5 cups’ worth of boiling water (if filled to max), at which point the kettle shuts itself off. As someone who has wrecked a standard kettle by forgetting to turn off the stove until after all the water evaporated, I appreciate this. I’ve used it to cook quick noodles, boil an egg, and of course make tea. This kettle takes up very little space on my counter. It has a cool-touch handle and lid-opening mechanism, and a window to see the water level. The only thing to make this kettle better would be a built-in temperature gauge in case you want to stop before the water boils. Other than that, very happy with this kettle!

Initially we enjoyed using this kettle and thought it was a good purchase but two months in and it has started to leak. Not good for an appliance that sits on an electrical base to charge!! We are now past the point where I can return it, and I now see that we are not the only customer this has happened to, so buyer beware!

We loved this kettle. But after using it numerous times a day for several months, it started leaking water all over the counter. So disappointing.Nice large capacity, heats water to a boil very quickly and then reliably shuts itself off. Looks great, seems well made.

We have a less expensive kettle previously that was better quality and heated the water faster.
