Good quality, tricky for some people to use. (Husband broke mine cause he couldn't figure out how to open it)

Plastic hook to hold gate when locked in place broke. Would like to get a replacement part if possible.

Installation was simple, but both connectors on the retractable part snapped off simultaneously making it useless. The plastic isn’t sturdy enough.

Ok at first…difficult directions, but we eventually figured it out. Broke after only a few weeks.

Easy to install. It is very and sturdy. I really like the black color. It is a good height. You need this. It is versatile and can be used for the baby or animal.

To start off, the instructions for setup are not very clear. There are various options which is useful, but the instructions were hard to follow. Upon getting the gate set up we cannot get it to be even which is causing a warping in the material. It is difficult to open which is a blessing and a curse. I will say overall it does function the way we need it to and it’s sturdy. We chose this product because of the height, this was one of very few options that had the height we were looking for in a retractable gate. I’m not sure that we would purchase this again.

I really like this new style of baby gates! No more fussing with the hard plastic gates every time you want to go through and then having to make sure it’s put back tightly. Or, when you decide it’s not worth the trouble try to step over it, not always successfully! You certainly won’t be stepping over this one since it’s so tall, but also you won’t have to because it’s so easy to open and close. You will have to work more to install it initially, but it’s well worth it! I personally did not install it, but I didn’t hear any cussing while my partner did! He said there were no issues.Very pleased with it.

I’ve only had for less than 2 months and the bottom hook (clip) on the retractable gate snapped off and is lodged in the connector piece. We are sadly unable to remove it or reattach it since it’s broken inside. Now the gate is not fully secure as intended to keep our baby safe from the stairs… disappointing

It’s okay. Covers a wide space and it’s tall but I wouldn’t use it by stairs it’s not sturdy like other gates. It’s not simple to install. It is secure when it is locked. I liked it when we just had dogs but it is not suitable in our house hold for children.

This gate defied all my expectations in a very positive way. Having an old plastic baby gate at home, I was used to something super clunky and tedious to install or move around, but to my surprise this gate was none of those things. We needed a very specific type of gate to put on top of a flight of stairs in our apartment as our entrance is on the 2nd floor, but our apartment in on the 3rd floor. Those stairs are very steep and dangerous for our small dog who keeps on peeking at the very edge whenever we come back home, so we ordered this gate to avoid any risk of him falling accidentally. Now that it’s been fully installed for a while, here are my honest thoughts on this product: • The installation process was a breeze, all you need to do is figure out which piece goes in which corner, which takes 2 minutes to do and then you apply the sticky pads to the right locations, which takes at best another 5 minutes and there you have it! • The sticky pads feel very safe in place and durable, to the point I dread the day I will have to remove them because they feel just that strong and secure. • The gate itself is retractable, which means once it’s installed it is there to stay, yet will never get in the way. The retractable railing is made of a strong semi-sheer mesh material that is both flexible and resistant. It is not at all stretchy, so once the locking mechanism is on, it is basically impossible for a baby or a small/medium dog to force his way through it. • The gate and its railing also reach very high. We ordered the 63in tall option (there is even an 126in tall option!) and it might even be tall enough to deter a cat from reaching the other side, so even if your dog can jump extra high or your toddler is growing fast, I would not be worried at all with a gate like this. • The gate is very high quality in term of its materials and mechanisms as well. The two main parts of the gate that connect together through the mesh railing are made of sturdy metal, the mesh railing rolls in and out like butter and the locking mechanism of the gate is easy to use and holds firmly in place.All that to say, this gate has been a lifesaver in our home and we are so happy we ordered it. Now we do not have to worry when we go out for groceries or have to leave our pup behind for a quick run outside and it’s been really great. This gate honestly offers more value than it is worth with the peace of mind that it provides and for how easy and nice it is to install and use, I think this product deserves a solid 5/5 rating and I would definitely recommend it to other parents, be it of the two legged or four legged kind. :)

Its very well made and has a sturdy construction. It features a retractable design that offers convenience and lets you collapse it and keep it out of the way when not required and easily engages when you need it. It a nice way to have a safety option while not compromising the aesthetics of your living space.It works great for our dog who doesn't try to push or jump over any gate we put in front of a door but if you have an aggressive dog that scratches at or attempts to jump over obstacles, this may not work for you. I have the same opinion about toddlers as well. When my kids were small they would shake the gate and thankfully the design allowed them to do their worst without issue but I'm not so sure this retractable gate would perform as well. I certainly wouldn't trust it at the top of a stairway to prevent them from falling as mentioned in the listing as well. Consider where you plan on using it deciding on purchasing.Installation is straightforward but the instructions aren't that great. It comes with all the hardware you need to install it permanently with wall anchors and screws or temporarily with double sided tape. Its adjustable width feature is great to accommodate various door frames. The retracting action is a very smooth operation and the material quality seem durable and have performed well so far.Overall, the Sunnycome Retractable Baby Gate is well made and works well so I would recommend it with the cautionary points I made earlier. It's a good design and has performed well for me so far.
