In captivity (or in European waters), eels do not breed naturally because of this inhibition of the development of their reproductive organs.

what is the expiry on this please?

Hi, The Smoked eel is 20 days from production but can also be frozen for up to 12 months.

Does it contain bones?

Not really, no (mostly no bones), perhaps a very very small ones only - they are edible if you come across any except from the back bone. The fish itself is very rich in omega 3 & 6, and has a great taste. I just wish they would not salt it too much and they started to put the tail parts in the packs, which are less meaty, less oily and cheaper. Hope my answer helped.

Does the eel have to be put in the fridge once delivered

Yes, this is a smoked eel fillet, and it does definitely need to be refrigerated once delivered. It will spoil if left unrefrigerated.
