Yes you can, cut slightly smaller as it's lycra, and will stretch, turn the edge under and zig zag stitch so you still have the stretch but a durable edge finish,Hope this helps.

Due to the nature of these sorts of suits even a small would fit you although it would be a very tight fit. A medium would likely fit you better around the waist but be a little tight height wise. I would probably say you should go for a large since it will be the correct height, it will be a little less figure hugging around the waist than a medium but depending on preference that may be ideal.generally fit tends to be similar across brands. generally i find that morphsuits tend to have larger hands while these ones have slightly smaller hands, for me this is much more comfortable since they don't dig in between my knuckles.I am 5 foot 9 inches and fairly slim for comparison.
