Top-Down Crochet Sweaters: Fabulous Patterns With Perfect Fit

I love cardigans and Pullover and specially the ones that can be constructed in one piece. I like to see the progress, try it on...This book doesn't disappoint! It does not contain the math behind but instructions are quite clear and if you google around you can find enough information to fill in the gaps should you want to design your own. Having said that, this books provides a lot of information and I would Highly recommended.The designs are Devine and can't wait to try them all! Easy instructions as well. Pages and photography have been done in a very nice way too. A joy to flip through the pages!

Great book full of patterns to try.

Bought as a gift. It looks great but I don’t crochet so it’s hard to say how good the patterns are!

I've just finished my first jumper from this book. It took a week to do - on and off. And I'm delighted with the outcome. This is my first crocheted jumper. I found the instructions really simple to follow. If there was an abbreviation I had not come across before, I'd look it up on YouTube to make sure I understood. Found myself crocheting smoothly away with the added bonus that it is all done in one piece top down, and I don't have to worry about making several pieces the exact same size...and NO stitching parts together!!!! LOVE it. Now choosing my next top from the book...planning to do them all. It helps to see different models wearing the same jumpers to get an idea on how the jumper would suit my body type. I'm totally addicted.

I bought this solely for one pattern that had caught my eye and thought the rest very unlikely I'd ever use but to my surprise really apart from the red dress/tunic and the one on cover Kim sure I'll be trying them all. As usual delivered by Amazon in under 24 hours of order and again in under 24 hours of order first project started and so far finding it very easy to follow but I do rather a lot of knitting and crochet and recently was introduced to Tunisian crochet. But this book really is for anyone who has knitted even if never picked up crochet hook in their lives the stitches are fully explained and diagrams show clearly what's needed. I have been so impressed by this I have ordered another for my sister in law and a book on crochet Arran ( cable) style patterns too. Looks like for first time in years am actually going to be making some things for myself rather than others. I would say one thing though about the presentation of finished items. Please imagine yourself wearing trousers for many of these rather than the skirts etc models wear I wouldn't be seen dead as they say dressed like some of the models with skirts but focus on how you would dress if you had them ready made instead definitely not the crochet top / tunic with longish skirt but smart pants and the picture changes five stars from me would give more if possible

Big disappointment

Dora Ohrenstein's writing is clear and interesting to read, full of useful tips and her instructions are easy to follow. The designs are great, attractive, potentially something for everyone.

I've tried a couple of times to crochet jumpers and clothes, but quite new to this hobby and have struggled with sewing seams. Top-Down crochet is my kind of book! Sweaters all crocheted in one piece with very little sewing at all! Bliss.I have started one of the patterns and haven't finished yet, but the instructions are clear, the descriptions are good and approaching crocheting garments fully explained. It's also a beautiful book with some lovely photography. Thoroughly recommended for the beginner to intermediate crocheter.
