Hard to find locally, so we ordered them for our shop through Amazon. We use these in the shop, and they’ve been really useful for quick checks. They’re simple to use—just dip and compare the color—and it gives you a good idea of where the brake fluid or coolant is at without overcomplicating things. It’s especially helpful when you want to show a customer something visual instead of just telling them. Results are quick, which keeps things moving during a busy day. We’ve used other test methods before, but these are a lot more convenient for everyday use. Only thing is you do have to pay attention to the timing and color chart to get an accurate reading. And like most strips, you’re getting a general condition check, not a super precise measurement. Overall, they’re a solid tool to have around for fast, reliable checks and customer transparency.

I bought these so I don't have to rely on the dealership to tell me when my fluids need to be changed. I do everything by the book, but it is recommended to test both the coolant and brake fluid. I have a 3 year old Corolla and a 2 year old Crown. Both of them came out with high scores so fluid replacement is not necessary. The dealer told me I should replace both fluids in the Corolla. Even though it was expensive to get these, I think they will save me money in the long run. I figure I will have a lifetime supply provided they don't go bad with time. I was going to buy an electronic tester, but read in several places that they can be unreliable, and that the strips were more accurate.

So get some and do your own testing, saving you tons when you go to the dealership and they suggestive sell you all their nonsense.
