Good delivery and good play
I've seen this play live a few times and wanted to read it. There are some good monologues in here for the dramatically inclined. Delivery was quick and easy and play was in good condition.

Hedda Gabler
Henrik Ibsen's play 'Hedda Gabler', which premiered in 1891 and remains one of the greatest dramatic roles in theatre, focuses on the newly-married, self-absorbed and very bored Hedda Tesman, whose scheming and manipulative behaviour causes catastrophic consequences for herself and for those around her. I listened to the Naxos Audio Download version, directed by John Tydeman, with Juliet Stevenson playing Hedda, a role in which she brings the words from the script wonderfully to life. Supporting actors include: Michael Maloney as Hedda's reliable, but dull, husband George; Philip Voss as Hedda's calculating admirer, Judge Brack, who plans to establish a ménage à trois with the beautiful Hedda and her husband; Emma Fielding, as Mrs Elvsted, an old schoolfriend of Hedda's who has fallen in love with the brilliant but dissolute Eilert Løvborg; and Robert Glenister as Eilert Løvborg, a former love of Hedda's, whose reappearance in Hedda's life sets the tragedy in motion. With some apposite pieces of music inserted between the scenes and with Juliet Stevenson's marvellous portrayal of Ibsen's passionate and tragic anti-heroine, this entertaining audio download was a pleasure to listen to.4 Stars.

Five Stars
Beautiful play.

Incomprehensible
So far as I can guess, this has been translated by a computer. The book as downloaded is meaningless drivel. This is no reflection on Ibsen, by the way.

Good read
This was a great play. If you like “A doll house” or “the awakening,” i think you would like this one.

Great Adaptation
A theatre I was involved with did this adaptation and now it is being done at the old vic. Have not seen the production but many speak to the updated adaptation. The language is so much more dynamic. Don't do one of those dusty versions. Do yourself and the actors a favor. Do Brian Friel's.

A story of greatness.
A "mind-blowing" tell about how oppression can takes it toll. A must have for any theatre collection.
