Spinning around in circles
Body Talk is the best pop album of the 2010's, and yes, I say that knowing it only came out a few months into the decade. Originating as three EP's and then cherry-picking songs from there for a full LP, Body Talk had a lot of build-up behind it, yet kept one-upping itself. Now, "Dancing on Your Own" and "Call Your Girlfriend" (the latter wasn't even intended to be a single) are among the most recognizable dance pop anthems of all time, and pretty much everything here could've been a huge hit in their place, like "Time Machine" or "Indestructible". The back half is quietly underrated too, with some experimental trap cuts and some other catchy tunes like "In My Eyes" and "Get Myself Together".

Dance/Pop at Its Finest
Robyn's Body Talk is the most interesting pop music I've heard in years. The closest I can come to describe it is to say it's like a combination of the oddness of Bjork, the confidence of Madonna or Lady Gaga, and the pop savviness of Roxette and Kylie Minogue. Much like Janelle Monae in the R&B genre, Robyn has found a way to innovate within the dance/pop genre while making songs with sincere emotions and a clarity of vision that is maintained throughout the entire album. The hooks and melodies are memorable, and there's a wide variety of styles, featuring some excellent, often very clever lyrics. "Call Your Girlfriend," for example, takes the perspective of "the other woman" in a relationship, giving advice on how a boyfriend should break up with his girlfriend in the most considerate way possible. This is a wonderful concept for a song, and everything else in the song backs up the idea perfectly. I consider it one of the best pop singles I've ever heard. Just as good is the first song here, "Dancing On My Own," a beautiful and emotional song.Much has been said already about how the three-part Body Talk releases came about, so I won't take time discussing that. Suffice it to say, all the releases are worth having, and I think this might just be the best of the bunch. I found the self-titled "Robyn" album to be excellent, if a little manic, and am pleased to say I think Body Talk is even better. It's sharp, focused, fascinating: an outstanding album.

"Daring Bodytalk"
"Bodytalk" by Robyn is a very exciting and catchy cd that has many high-energy songs that cover the various facets of relationships and having fun. What is great about this cd is that Robyn carefully put musical tracks that covered various facets of what can happen in life. For example, Robyn sings about keeping her guard up, and only revealing herself to the one special "nice" person in the edgy ballad that is "Indestructible". "Time Machine" appears to be about her coming to terms with her past and present in assisting her in becoming wiser. "We Dance to The Beat", "Dancehall Queen," and "Stars 4-Ever" appear to be about having fun and making the most of life. "Get Myself Together" is also a great song about striving to create more harmony, balance, and fullfillment in one's life. "Stars 4-Ever" really stood out for me, but all of her other songs on this compilation are very well-put together as well. Robyn creatively projects a strong and powerful spirit in many of her songs. It is my humble opinion that Robyn's Bodytalk cd symbolizes the creative musical growth that she has achieved since her 1990's musical days of "Do You Know (What it Takes)," and "Do You Really Want Me (Show Respect). Please understand that I do think positively of her two well known 90's songs, but this "Bodytalk" compilation showcases her talent even more. Robyn's "Bodytalk" compilation is very much recommended if you enjoy high-energy dance/pop music of a musician who projects much creativity and personal power.

Amazing Robyn album!
I became a fan of Robyn's when I spent a year abroad in England 2007-2008, when her song "With Every Heartbeat" hit number one in the UK and "Be Mine" was a hit as well. I had sort of lost track of her until I heard she was releasing several EPs in 2010. Naturally, I got all of the Body Talk albums, but was ecstatic to see most of the songs, plus 5 new tracks, on the Body Talk cd. Every song on the cd is catchy and melodic. Most of the songs have the quirky lyrics that I love Robyn for and all of the tracks are very danceable, especially "Dancing On My Own," "Time Machine," and "None of Dem." I also love the extra-long version of "Fembot" included here!I only wish that the acoustic versions of "Indestructible" and "Hang With Me" were included on this disc, but I can see why they were left off, since the final Body Talk album is a dance-pop album. I recommend that people buy this album and then buy the remaining tracks from Body Talk Pt. 1 and Body Talk Pt. 2 separately.I cannot recommend this album more highly!! :)

High energy dance music!
Wow, I had heard this was a really good album, but after just 2 plays so far I am blown away. Very electronica sound. How you possibly sit still while listening to this is beyond me. Toe tappingly good. Best dance/pop album of the past 10 years in my opinion. Just fantastic. Highest recommendation. Will not have to get her latest "Honey."

Pure Pop Magic
I have always had an affinity for Robyn, ever since her "show me love" days. I no longer buy albums as much, but felt utterly compelled to buy this one. I know I'm a bit late to the party because it's been out for a bit, but hey guess what? IT'S NEVER TOO LATE to appreciate or listen to Robyn;)If you've never heard of Robyn before then you are missing out. To me, she is on the same caliber as Madonna, Kylie Minogue, and others. Sadly, she is also highly underrated. Hopefully you'll love this album as much as I did.My Favorite tracks,Dancing on my ownFembotIndistructibleTime MachineCall Your girlfriendAND THE REST OF THE ALBUM!

be aware of the artwork!!
Great album as ever from Robyn, but be aware of the artwork on the disc. It is manufactured to look like a CD-R. I did not know this and so when it arrived, it was so convincingly like a CD-R (says CD Reburnable on it) that I thought it was a counterfeit product - it isn't!!! It was a design choice for the disc as the albums in this series were all a bit experimental (so I've read) and therefore it was made to look as if it had been knocked up in someone's garage / bedroom. It doesn't have this anywhere in the product description, and I have seen other reviews that have thought they'd been sent a counterfeit item - but it's not, it's just made to look that way!Enjoy it!Hayles x

Electronic Pop at its best
Something quite remarkable happened last year. A Swedish electronic dance artist by the name of Robyn released three CD's. Ok, so this one - the third one, is a compilation of the first two but with new and added tracks. Little matter because all three are truly wonderful CD's. It is reminiscent of Madonna, circa Ray of Light or Music. Tracks such as Dancing on My Own, Hang With Me and Indestructable are reminders of how wonderful a 3 minute pop song can be. Although I still prefer the acoustic version of Indestructable from volume two.Lyrics could be a complaint for some. Maybe they can be a little childish. But the sheer delight of hearing pop done so well is enough. If there was justice Robyn would be a world wide superstar.

This woman can do no wrong.
I bought this on a whim and was completely blown away. Talent-wise, she is up these with fellow Scando-wizards Mew: simply on a different level. If you're sick of the depressing and mediocre efforts of most of today's so called musical "stars", then give this a spin.Uplifting, invigorating and restoring one's faith in the gift of great music.

Credible pop music for the 21st century
This album has some absolutely classic songs on it. I wouldn't call it a perfect album, as there is definitely some filler (at 15 tracks though that's probably allowed), but the some of the tracks are so good that they more than make up for it. Whether you're into manufactured pop or indie music, this album has enough credibility on both fronts to impress. Highlights are Dancing on my Own, and Call Your Girlfriend.
