Consider these permanent. Very sturdy, industrial-looking. I put one on a wooden step, didn’t like the look, and immediately removed it. It stripped a swath of wood off the step with it. Had to sand, fill with putty, and repaint.

Nice product but all of them were a half in short which sucked because I needed all 40”
