Problem Solved
I built my own house and made some mistakes - like not having a light at the landing at the top of the stairs.Right now, the only way to see where the stairs begin is to turn on the lights. So I went into an adjoining room and, from an existing outlet in that room, poked a hole through the wall at an angle and out to the landing on the other side. Then I used an "old work" outlet box (the one with the clips) and installed this light for the stair landing.Problem solved. And the light is great!

Basic night light
The night/guide light functions as expected at this price point. Functionality is very basic though:- single color temperature (warm white)- cannot turn it off without disconnecting wiring- cannot select light output intensity - adjusts automatically based on its built-in ambient light sensorI am using the frosted lens, but I like that it includes the optional louvre in case I want to only direct the light down, such as for a hall or stairway.

It's one of those things you didn't know you needed until you have it
Sometimes you have a problem, but you don't really know how to easily solve it and it's not a big enough problem for you to spend a lot of time trying to figure it out. I'll have to admit this little light falls into this category. How many times have I stumbled into the bathroom in the dark in the middle of the night? I don't want to turn the regular bathroom light on because I'm half asleep and it's the middle of the night. I also don't really want to trip and fall because I can't really see what I'm doing. Or how about the times when I'm staying at a friend's house and I go in their bathroom and it's completely dark and I can't even find the light switch? This cool little LED night light solves these problems. Most of the time when I've seen lights like this in a house they are installed near the steps in a dark stairwell. This light fixture even comes with a louvered insert so that it can be used in that application. I just really like the idea of putting this in my hall bathroom. It has a light sensor built-in and turns off when the regular lights are on. It is not super bright. It just provides enough light for you to orient yourself in the room and that's usually all I need. It looks well-built and is really simple to wire up and install. I love it, problem solved!

Read the description more carefully
Honestly, I thought this was an illuminated light switch, not simply an outlet night light. It comes up in searches as a lighted light switch and variations on that search. Some of the pictures make it seem like it is a light switch. Beyond that, for what it is, it seems lightweight and chintzy. I am sure it works fine and probably will still be used somewhere in the house. It is a tad expensive for what it is.

Upscale Look with the louvered light!
I really like the louvered light diffuser for this, it gives it an upscale look over the frosted diffuser (both are included, so the choice is up to you). I like that this is UL listed and certified; safety is important, especially when it comes to electrical devices. I like that it includes a durable cover with the device. The only real draw-back of using this device is it takes up nearly as much space in the workbox as a GFCI outlet. So, you either need to plan for that, or you'll be giving up a device/outlet in order to use this. For my own comfort level, I think this option is more safe than the retrofit outlet covers with lights in them, if only because this gets a dependable hard-wired connection. This is great for offering just a little light in a hallway to mark your, or perhaps a bathroom at night so you can tell where objects are; just enough to see your path but not so much as to hurt the eyes or keep you awake.

Nicely made night light
The quality seems good on this night light, and it should be easy to install. I did not realize when ordering (I should have - no fault of product description) that I would be sacrificing a wall outlet with its installation so it will take a little more thought before I decide where to install it. That being said, it appears to be a well made product and I would recommend it if you have an extra outlet.

Decent
The one issue with this is you will lose a power outlet by installing this. So they are great for walkways that have outlets you don't use. I also used one opposite of the coach lights in the garage so when the lights are on outside this is on inside. It's ok but but there are better options that work better for me. If you aren't technically inclined though, this could be great fit you.

A1 Quality Item Without Issues ...
This was a good product decision. The item was easily installed by changing out the outlet receptacles wiring (hot, neutral, n ground). The fitment was spot on. The sensor works fine in having light for half of the full day emitted from led's should last a few years 'but' who can say at this point 'if'. Can only figure the electrical draw during those half days for say a months period of time should only be a minimal level. The lighting effect is good and the included louvered slip on cover to diffuse some light emitted works as intended if so desired. The only drawback is that u have to remember is that u lose the advantage of having a power outlet wherever this may be placed unlike a typical plug in night lite. Thats replaced with the advantage of a sleek flush custom fit n appearance ... so keep in mind 'the decisions decisions scenario' as advice comes into play prior to commitment before placing an order.
