Have correct expectations of a "Natural" gum
I find this gum fantastic. Mild but accurate flavor (natural flavoring), good chewability, and no plastic base. BUT, you have to now what you are actually getting. A lot of the bad or mediocre reviews are complaints about the stickiness (well, natural saps/waxes are sticky by nature, unlike synthetic gum), weak flavor (well, it's not an artificial "fake" flavor attached to the gum base), and poor flavor (expectation of synthetic flavors like cinnamon, mint, etc. vs natural flavoring are not the same). However, I knew this going in, and I find the flavors very accurate. Natural bases also never really hold the flavor long (think Toms or Dr. Bonner toothpaste) and natural flavors are never a "Punchy" as artificial ones, that's just how it is if you want a "Natural" product. As long as you don't have the expectation this gum will feel and taste like the fake stuff, you can appreciate how good this really is. I love being able to pop a piece in and get my flavor and oral fixation "fix" and the 15 minutes or so the flavor lasts is very adequate. Sure it's sticky, but it's natural and if swallowed accidentally is of no concern. If you are looking for that strong "punchy" flavor gum, this isn't it, but if you want a very smooth, subtle, and ACCURATE flavor of coffee, fennel (one of my favorites), ginger, and cinnamon, then this is great to have on your desk for a quick chew. Just remember, we are conditioned to think the artificial gums and flavor are accurate when in reality, nothing natural tastes like like that. If you keep this in mind, I think you will be pleasantly surprised by this gum. Love it!

Gum is just gum, right? Not necessarily so.
Being old, I don't get out much these days. Instead, I mostly pass the time by smoking large cigars. Sadly, this is frowned on in the office where I work (I know, right?? Political correctness gone mad!!), so I chew a lot of gum when I'm there, and the flavors at the local CVS get pretty tired the nth time round. So when I saw these, I thought I'd give them a chew. They are pretty different from regular gum. They look, slightly disconcertingly, like pet food pellets; and they come loose and unwrapped in the box. In place of the wrappers, you get a separate bunch of post-chew wrappers, for thoughtful disposal of the used gum. I guess it's as good a way of saving a little on the manufacturing costs as any. The flavor is much less intense than regular gum - I'm not saying if that's good or bad, but there it is. And the flavors themselves? All good. My favorite is the licorice and fennel, a nicely subtle and complex taste; followed by the ginger, which has a nice little bit of heat to it. The coffee and maple syrup flavors are both good, sweet and mild. As for the cinnamon and mint? Well, I have to say, I don't really get cinnamon, it's always reminded me too much of old folk's baking when I was a kid; but the gum tastes like it's been made with the real thing,so that's to the good if you like it. Mint? Well I like a bit of mint as much as the next guy - plucked fresh from the garden on boiled new potatoes or shoved in a glass of hot, sweet tea - but I do feel there's too much mint in my life already. (I blame the toothpaste manufacturers. Would it really hurt so much just to offer us just a couple of choices?) But again, the taste of real mint is there. However, as with any gum, the flavor only lasts a few minutes at most; and this is where Simply Gum actually pulls ahead of regular gum. Instead of being left with what feels like a lump of tasteless soft plastic in your mouth, you actually have a smooth, natural tasting gum remaining. It actually reminds me a lot of the gum we used to make for ourselves from wheat as kids, back in the day. And that's a nice little bonus.

I gave it a try and "kind of" liked it. That was the mint flavor
I discovered this gum at the supermarket and was intrigued because the cost was significantly higher than any other gum I had ever purchased. I gave it a try and "kind of" liked it. That was the mint flavor. After that, I went ahead and ordered the variety pack on Amazon. First the pluses: 1) So far I have only tried mint and cinnamon and both have a very pleasant flavor. Unfortunately, as others have said, the flavor lasts for literally seconds before completely disappearing. However, if you stick with it, after about 5 minutes there is a sudden, pleasant, second wind of flavor that is very enjoyable and lasts a bit longer. 2) Gum base is natural chiclet (which comes from a tree sap) unlike the synthetic gum base. I can really tell a big (pleasant) difference when I chew. 3) I personally really like the unique packaging and design. Minuses: 1) Short-lived flavor unless you are willing to stick with it for 5 minutes, and even then you maybe get a maximum of 5 extra minutes of any flavor. 2) Gum is VERY stretchy. This honestly scares me a little. When I try to take the gum out of my mouth at the end, it just stretches and stretches in a fine tube. So basically there are some small pieces that get separated during chewing which you don't really notice. However, after I take out the main piece of gum when I am done chewing, there are always 1-2 very small parts and these are very stretchy and difficult to completely take out. They stretch in a long tube out of the mouth as you try to take then out. This is very annoying. So it takes me up to 30 secs or longer to get the gum out and I cannot just easily spit it out like with most other gum. 3) You need to take at least 2 pieces to get ANY flavor. This isn't a huge deal because there are lots of pieces in the box, and it is not packaged like regular gum, but still. I wish I could give this another star for creativity and effort to round it up to at least 3 stars. I do really like the flavor and the chiclet base, but given all the other points above, I am sticking with 2-2.5 stars. I would certainly be willing to give this gum another try if the creators fixed the above issues. In the mean time, I will be looking for another chiclet-based gum. Update July 2017: I have learned to overlook the annoying stretchiness of this gum. I now regularly chew the mint and cinnamon flavors as I have been unable to find any natural base gum that is comparably good in flavor and ingredients.

I chose it because I don't like all the chemicals in traditional gum
I have really mixed feelings about this gum. I chose it because I don't like all the chemicals in traditional gum, and this stuff is all natural. The bad part is, some of the flavours suck. The mint is so soft it feels like mucous in your mouth (i don't know if it is the oil they flavour it with that breaks down the base or what), the ginger and fennel flavours are just not for me (a little too strong and are flavours I am not fond of anyway), but the coffee, maple, and cinnamon are all pretty good. The coffee, cinnamon, and maple all have the closest texture to traditional gum with flavours that are not overly offensive. I am not a big fan of coffee, so I only chew it on occasion (it may be better if it had more sweetness to it, but for those who like the coffee flavour, this might be good for you). The maple has such a subtle favour that is not comparable to maple syrup like I thought it would be, it is not that sweet but still makes for a nice chew. The cinnamon is by far my favourite of the bunch. The gum has a nice texture with enough cinnamon flavour to give you that good punch you want from a cinnamon gum without being too overwhelming or artificial like Big Red. Another side note- the pieces of gum are not uniform. At all. It says 15 pieces per pack, which is an estimate I feel as a lot of my packs undoubtedly had many more, but the pieces vary so much in size that it is kind of offputting. Sometimes you are fine with one piece, sometimes you need 2 or 3. I would like to see more flavours from this brand like maybe a citrus or more unique flavours like they currently have, and I would also like to see some reformulations to get all of their current flavours on the same level as far as amount of flavour and texture of the gum as you chew it, as well as less variance in the site of each piece.

Excellent quality, lovely flavors, and safe for me.
I bought these because I need an interim habit to help me stop grinding my teeth after getting through an intense period of stress. If I'm focused on chewing the gum, I can't simultaneously maintain the habit I'm trying to break. The quality of the product is impressive. It feels far better than any other gum I've used in the past. The important factor that guided me to this brand was a need for a product that does not utilize aspartame. Even in small amounts, I start getting nasty headaches with migraine-level pain after a few days. As an aside, the amount of aspartame in Diet Dr. Pepper gives me one after just one accidental sip. This gum not only avoids the pitfall of the 'danger ingredient' for me, but chewing it feels more natural and less nasty even after the flavor begins to fade. So far, I've only tried the maple flavor, and I'm satisfied with how long the flavor lasts and the mouth-feel of the chew. I know some reviews mentioned the flavor fading quickly, but so far I find that it beats the conventional gums I've had in the past in that regard. The flavor is crisp and fresh and leaves my breath feeling improved in scent. For the cost I paid and the amount I got for it, I'd say it was worth every cent.

Love it
Simply gum has a simple mission - real gum, real ingredients. It's great. Real gum - As the legend goes, America learned about chewing gum when General Santa Ana was taken prisoner. He chewed chicle, a dried sap from a tree, to calm his nerves. Somehow, the trend took off. Simply Gum uses real chicle. You may know Chicle as the ingredient that gives Chiclets brand gum their name. Real ingredients - The ingredient list doesn't have any weird chemical names or trade secrets. The ingredients are always a chicle base with natural flavors such as spearmint and a little sugar. That's all. Really good - So far I've had the maple and coffee flavors. Coffee flavor really does taste like fresh coffee, although the maple flavor really tastes more like brown sugar to me. Both are delicious. Flavors last a good time. I define a lasting flavor as anything longer than about 30 seconds. This gum holds up fine. Past that point you're chewing it to work your jaw, so flavor doesn't really matter. Real chew - Chicle has a great bite, which is unrivaled by any modern formulation in my opinion. The only problem with chicle is that it can "stick" ever so slightly to the teeth, which means it can be a nightmare for anyone with certain dental appliances. Definitely try a pack before you buy in if you ever have problems with things sticking to your teeth. But for pure chewing pleasure, chicle rules. Real packaging. The gum comes in a printed cardboard box. That's all. No foil wrappers, no plastic strips. It's just recyclable cardboard. There are also wax papers included. These are less common for Americans so you should know they're a polite way to dispose of used gum so you don't have to touch it. It's a nice thing to include. The catch? Simply Gum is expensive. I think they're 100% worth it. I keep swallowing my gun so far, which I always do when I love the flavor of gum. I keep thinking it's candy and want to reach for another piece. What about sugar? Won't it rot your teeth? Some people complain about sugar in gum. This is only a problem if you (like me) are prone to swallowing deliciously flavored gum like candy. The point of chewing gum for dental health is three-fold. One, you work your jaw muscles to promote proper function. Two, you can dislodge food particles hiding between your teeth. Three, you scrub off some of the sugars and bacteria which can hide on teeth and turn into plaque. Chewing gum with natural sugar still does all of this. So long as you chew it about 30 seconds longer than the point when it loses its sugary flavor, you're not really leaving any residue. Your saliva breaks down the sugars, the gum massages any remnants off your teeth, and you swallow the evidence. Just chew your gum completely, and enjoy that lovely chicle bite.

expectations are far from the reality of the taste
The Package and the form presented are convincing, but the Gum itself its not what i expected. The taste is nice in the first 5 seconds, but last for 40 seconds in total for having a taste and a good feeling, then you fell like you are chewing some sticky glue and it leaves like a sense of dust in mouth. The sugar is less which is ok, but again, per total, is one time purchase, nothing more.

Not bad but not for me. Solid 3.5
Wonderful flavors fun to chew. 2 things that didn't work for me. First the most unimportant thing is you can not blow bubbles. Second the main reason for this low rating is because it got stuck in my teeth to easily to the point it was hard to even floss out. Which is weird because my teeth are so close together. It is good gum just not for my house hold. The stuck in the teeth bit happened to us all. Flavors are great. House favorite was coffee it is gone. I personally love the variety pack because I also tried taking pieces from seperate packs to combine flavors. Cinnamon maple and ginger is my jam. I love that it also comes with after chew papers to discard the gum. It is SUPER sticky so not getting it on your fingers is a must. I appreciate the experience. Not the best not the worst. Worth a try if you are looking for something without all the extra ingredients.

Good
Pretty good for a natural chewing gum. The flavour runs out fast to leave a strange taste but other than that it’s worth it

Fresh, Clean, long lasting and SIMPLY Good
I bought the Simply Gum variety pack but so far I’ve only tried the peppermint—and honestly, I’m impressed. The flavor is clean, fresh, and not overpowering. It feels natural and doesn’t have that artificial aftertaste most gums have. I also love that the ingredients are simple and better for you. If the other flavors are anything like the peppermint, then this variety pack is definitely worth it. Really happy with my purchase!
