Based on the idea from the French. The butter is kept at room temperature and the bell shaper is inverted in the crock to prevent contamination. You also put 1/4 cup of water in the bottom of the crock to form a seal. Note:, if you use unsalted butter, put a little salt in the water.This device keeps butter smooth and spreadable for whenever you need it. Not only does it keep butter fresh and spreadable for days, but the bell design looks great on my kitchen counter. It takes up less space than a traditional butter dish.For me, being in a spreadable format, avoids having to take from slices from a stick of butter. The perfect addition to the kitchen.

It is just as described. I really like the texture of the butter kept this way. It isn't runny or sloppy, and yet not hard like from the refrigerator.

No more warming up butter or chiseling away at a frozen block. Always fresh and soft ready to use! Finish is nice and dish seems very sturdy as well would buy again.
