Romance film.
Like the actors and actresses in the film. Thought was different to your normal romance films and enjoyed it.

Meh and yeah in places.
I've been avoiding this film for a while because I was told the trailer was the movie and from what I saw of that, the dialogue seemed a cringefest and the film laden with predictability. For Chris Evans fans, this is a must watch and he's also a producer which is an impressive title to land, so he's definitely diversifying. To be honest, this sort of film does not play to the strength of Evans. He looks clumsy and awkward when trying to execute comedy. Monaghan is self-assured, confident and sassy and has instant likeability. I'm not saying Evans doesn't but he's essentially playing a charming douchebag and in the hands of someone else, you would despise him but it's Chris Evans so that's never going to happen. I would urge fans to watch simply to see Evans as a woman - well a bearded one. He's er.....strangely attractive, if you squint and on that note, enjoy!

Loved It
A feel good but not in the way you would expect. Thoroughly enjoyed this movie, laughed out loud often! The romance was great but his friends are a hoot!

A poor man's When Harry Met Sally
As a romcom, it failed in its 2 key aspects - it was neither romantic nor funny. There was no chemistry between the leads. The humour at times was bordering on the offensive (the Malaysian women reference especially). When the lead actor is listed as a producer it rings alarm bells in my mind.If anything positive comes out of it, then maybe there'll be more sales of Love In A Time Of Cholera.

Best one in while
Ahhh I loved that film, had a real feel to it, funny and yet it was romantic is a kwirky way. Will lift your mood. Not to hard to watch and easy on the tissue box.

Quirky film, not a bog-standard romance
This film is quite different from the usual romantic comedies. It was very modern with realistic lead characters. I really enjoyed the "French cinema" vibe that the film gave off such as interjecting some scenes with animation and skits showing inside the mind and imagination of the leading man. It's also not particularly 'sappy', there were plenty of real life events and interactions that ensured this wasn't a soft focus film. It's predictable of course, but still entertaining. I also thought the soundtrack was pretty good and ended up buying a few of the songs that featured in the film.I don't think the film has the pretentiousness that others have mentioned. The film is shot from the view point of the lead male, who is a writer, it's his story, his imagination and his life that is under the camera so when the credits roll and he breaks the 4th wall it makes sense to me. But others may disagree.Overall, this isn't a life changing film but it's interesting enough and easy to have on for a relaxed movie night in.

Poor, sexist crud
They would never get away with this script now, and I expected better of Chris Evans! Some sweet aspects, but overall a main character with...no character.
