Simply put, Excellent...
Ok so, the preface: Writing this review after 2 uses. I read dozens of reviews before buying this product. The cons I read were either 1) it didn't work or 2) it was extremely drying. I have to wonder if for 1) did you follow the directions properly and/or how light was your blonde hair to begin with? and for 2) again, did you follow the directions and what kind of hair type did you have to begin with: Is it really fine hair? Was it already damaged? How often do you wash your hair? Is it daily? So a little about me... I'm not a hair stylist but have enough family members who are to know how to be hair literate lol. I recently highlighted my hair with a cap and Wella bleach with 20 developer. Done this plenty of times in the past with great success but didn't leave the bleach in long enough so my hair had more brass than I normally like even with using a Wella toner (light ash blonde) immediately after. My hair type is medium-fine but lots of it, naturally frizzy with some wave, and is not damaged. After styling (I always use a leave-in styling conditioner prior to applying heat) my hair looks lovely. I also wash my hair every 2-3 days. With that said... here's what I've done thus far with this product. 1ST USE: left on for 3 minutes per the instructions on the bottle. Since many of the reviews commented on drying, I immediately followed it up with a 15 minute Olaplex treatment (#3 bottle). I HIGHLY recommend investing in Olaplex for restoring health back into processed hair. It's excellent. Anyway, after first use the shampoo definitely toned down the yellow/brass from my hair but not substantially. It was MINIMAL. Even I couldn't notice it at first but after styling I could definitely see a difference that left me eager and looking forward to trying it a 2nd time but leaving it on for a longer duration. Side note: I would also recommend giving your hair a few days break before using this shampoo again just to be safe. While it did not dry out my hair at all, I also hadn't washed my hair for 3 days which left some natural oils on my hair to help protect it from whatever processing it was going to endure from the shampoo. 2ND USE: My 2nd time using this shampoo was 6 days after the 1st use. It had been 2 days since I washed my hair as well. I left it on for 6 minutes this time and definitely saw a much more substantial change in my hair this go around. It toned down the brass really nicely. Some areas more than others but no worries as I like dimension. Once again, I followed up the shampoo with a 15 minute #3 Olaplex treatment. Styled my hair as usual after and still really couldn't notice any drying/damage. Perhaps because I restored health back into my hair after utilizing Olaplex? Dunno, but I'd rather be safe than sorry and will continue to follow this pattern regardless :) I plan on using this a 3rd time in about a week or 2 as I'm already very happy with the color of my hair. I will probably leave it on another 6 minutes the 3rd time just to keep the color as is. It's really important to keep in mind that this shampoo is not a LIGHTENER. Perhaps many of the individuals leaving negative reviews have different expectations than what TONING is about. A toner is not a bleach. It's a way of neutralizing a color from the opposite end of the color spectrum. Only bleach will lift color. COLOR WILL ONLY DEPOSIT COLOR. Thus, that's why depending on how lifted your hair is to begin with some people will walk away with a purple tint on their hair because the purple shampoo color deposited into the follicle. Boom, science. With all of this said here are my recommendations for using this product! 1) Use it after not washing your hair for 2-3 days to allow some natural oils to become a healthy barrier from whatever processing this shampoo will do to your follicle 2) Immediately follow it up with a leave in conditioner that works well with your hair type. I recommend Olaplex. 3) DON'T use this daily. This is definitely not a daily-use shampoo. It's meant to be used sporadically so anyone complaining about the price tag for such a small bottle is not thinking of the full picture here. 4) Follow the directions the first time around and don't leave it on for longer than 3 minutes. Slightly bump up the duration every time thereafter at your discretion or until you find a duration that works well for you. Wish I had taken before and after pics but you're going to have to trust me on the above and give it a shot yourself!!

Grapefruit Godsend for Evening Out Tone
One wash, and I’ve got the perfect shade! I have naturally blonde hair that has been darkening over the last 5 or 6 years. I did some home highlights about a year ago, didn’t like the grow-out over several months, and a few months ago tried another box dye kit to return my hair to my natural shade. But then it grew out and revealed that it was not my natural shade after all—I had a lot of yellow deposited and very ashy roots growing in! I went to my hairdresser hoping for a fix, and did receive a beautiful, subtle balayage looke blending light tips to darker roots, but came home still seeing a noticeable line about an inch from my part where the rest of my hair became much more yellow. I ordered this product hoping to tone down the yellow a bit and help blend the color treated portions with my roots. I followed the directions contained in the box, and only left the purple shampoo on my hair for about a minute, especially since I’d only just had my hair color treated a handful of days before (the bottle said to wait longer than that, but I didn’t). I stepped out of the shower and looked in the mirror. My hair still looked a bit yellow while wet, but blow dried to a much more natural tone and it is just perfect. The natural ashiness of my roots fades much more gently into the color treated parts of my hair, and this shampoo did exactly what I was hoping it would, giving me a much more natural, blended hair color so that I can grow out my roots and get back to my natural color. I’m not sure how long the effects will last or how often I’ll have to use this shampoo for maintenance, but I am beyond thrilled with the results and it’s worth every penny, definitely a budget-savvy way to treat your hair compares with heading back to the salon. And it’s so easy to start slow and build to a color depth of your choosing, which you can’t do at a salon. The other surprise I’ll note is that it smells AWESOME. It’s a wonderful, intoxicating grapefruit scent that feels invigorating and relaxing all at once. And it made my hair super soft to boot. The other thing I’ll note is that I was worried when I first got out of the shower because it kind of looked like my skin was a bit purple around my scalp. After drying my hair, I really couldn’t tell anymore, but I think if you were to leave the shampoo on your hair longer than I did (I did the minimum time), it might be a risk or something to be cautious about. I followed the directions and wore gloves to apply it, and I’m thinking it’s a good thing I did. ;) Anyway. This is unlike any product I’ve ever tried before—I’ve never had results like this with one wash of a purple shampoo. This is amazing and I highly recommend it.

BOLD UNIQ PURPLE SHAMPOO!
I can't tell you how many times I've used this and love it every single time!!! This is the ONLY purple shampoo I will ever use. It is the most potent and post pigmented purple shampoo compared to literally any purple shampoo out there!! It smells absolutely amazing and definitely takes any brass/yellow out of your hair!! I will say, a little goes a long way and you only have to use it once a week or once every couple weeks because it is so pigmented, that it can give your hair a purple tent to it. Don't leave it on as long as the bottle says! Do half that time and you're golden! If you use this daily or for longer amounts of time, you will get purple hair, especially if you have bright blonde hair or very poress hair! But I hands down recommend this purple shampoo to anyone who needs a good lift! You seriously won't be disappointed! FYI, it does stain your hands but comes off with lots of soap and water.

I'M IMPRESSED. And I'm not easily impressed. This is probably my 20th purple shampoo I've tried over the past 5 years and this one is by far the best. I have level 9 blonde hair with various guy tang colors overall, mostly Ice Gold. Its been about 6 months since I've had my hair done, so it has looked better... I've been using Pravana, Fanola, NYM, L'Ange, and Joico purple shampoos which work just okay. They are nothing special. Fanola actually dried my hair out so badly that my hair BROKE OFF in 2 spots. This one got 95% of the brass and yellow out of my hair. I have a few small patches where there's a bit of yellow... but that was probably my application process, and not the shampoos fault (I have a toddler asking for my attention at all times and it made the application a bit difficult 🙃🙃🙃) My hair came out MUCH brighter and ashier which is my preference. It is so soft and shiny. I left it on for about 8 minutes, then I used 3 minute miracle on it for 10 minutes. I feel like i just went to the salon for a professional tone and gloss. No joke it hasn't looked this fresh in a long time. There is a tinge of lavendar in my hair now which could have been avoided by leaving the product on slightly less time, however, I'm not mad at it. I actually like it. There was quite a lot of yellow to correct, so I knew that I would need a longer processing time. The first picture was taken in my bathroom where there is warm lighting, the second picture was taken in my dining room where there is cooler/natural lighting. I did knock a star off of the review because the bottle came squished and there was a mess in the bag. Amazon was great about refunding me so I can buy a new bottle that didn't explode during shipping.

The strongest purple shampoo on the market
This is the strongest purple shampoo I’ve ever used. I recently had my hair bleached to platinum (after having a blonde balayage so I already had some purple shampoos), but the toner washed out within my first two washes and it turned Goldilocks yellow. I used all the purple shampoos I had and nothing worked. Freaked out, I turned to Amazon and found this. I thought I had the strongest purple shampoo (Blonde Brilliance from Sally, which is REALLY good) in my arsenal but this stuff takes the cake. This shampoo is no joke and really takes a learning curve to use to achieve desired results. It’s so purple it’s almost black when you dispense it into your hands (it WILL tint your hands and nails temporarily so keep that in my mind). This shampoo knocked out all the yellow in one wash. Seriously. I was elated. It left my hair stark white after saturating my hair and leaving it on for 5 minutes. Caveats: 1. Your shower will be splattered with purple that is hard to clean. 2. Your hands and nails will be temporarily stained. 3. It is hard to rinse out completely. 4. It is super drying, so a mask or heavy conditioner is needed following use. 5. If your hair is porous it will leave a purple tint. 6. Do not use before work or an important event. So, here’s the thing...the second time I used this for the same amount of time (5 minutes) it left my hair very lavender. Noticeably purple. And I used it before work. Problematic as I work in an environment where I run front of house for a business and deal with customers all day. Thankfully it’s a lax environment and my noticeably purple hair was not a problem With management, but I was self conscious about it all day. I will never make that mistake again. This shampoo also leaves your hair super dry. You HAVE to use a deeply moisturizing conditioner or mask after using. No ifs ands or buts. The end. You have to. Be very careful with this stuff. It is the strongest purple shampoo I have ever used and I have a slew of them, some more expensive than this one. BUT, it works! If you have bleached hair you need this is your Arsenal. I’d skip using other purple shampoos when using this and limit use to once a week. If you use it more than that you run the risk of having your hair turn purple. All in all, this is a game changer for platinum blondes. I wish I had found this shampoo sooner because I may have just stuck to a balayage instead of going full platinum. Like I said, this is the strongest purple shampoo I’ve ever used. If you have platinum hair, look no further for a purple shampoo.

Misleading
Misleading when it says shampoo but the box says use after washing your hair with normal shampoo and leave in. So basically same as the hair mask, which works really well. I just wanted a quicker solution. Have not used it yet.

INTENSE purple hair shampoo! My go-to for quick removal of brassy tones
I have a high ombre that goes from dark brown at the roots to platinum blond at the tips. I ended up buying this Bold Uniq Purple Shampoo because of the raving reviews and I absolutely agree with them! First, this is a pretty high price for a shampoo in a relatively small bottle, HOWEVER, I would never use this as a daily shampoo unless you want purple hair. I use this as a hair mask/shampoo no more than once a week and I use a different/less intense purple shampoo for the other days. Since I don't use this daily, it lasts a LONG time so the price is worth it. The shampoo is a VERY deep/dark pigmented purple color. If you leave it in too long or use it too often, you will end up with purple hair so use it only occasionally if you're just trying to remove brass from blond. It does work as a shampoo for cleaning hair, but it is a bit harsh and makes my hair stripped/dry so I lather A LOT of conditioner afterwards to keep my hair smooth and soft. It has a nice light almost floral scent to it. If you are looking for a strong purple hair mask to remove brassy tones from blond hair quickly, I HIGHLY recommend this one. With just one application, I see a NOTICEABLE improvement in my brassy tones. I have purchased this stuff multiple times now and it's a staple in my haircare routine. Hope this helps!

I’m in love with my silver hair again
I used olaplex to wash my hair and remove any residue. I towel dried it and applied the shampoo all over the hair and left it for 10 mins. I seriously love, love the silver color that came back (like in the salon). I recommend 100%

The best purple shampoo on the market!
I have tried purple shampoos in the past and I found them incredibly drying or they just turned my hair purple for days, instead of the silvery tones I was looking for. A friend recommended this, and OMG, I love it! The instructions are very clear - leave the shampoo in from 3-10 minutes depending on your hair and desired results. Start at a few minutes and see how you get on for your hair type. If you do leave it on too long and you get a purple tinge, just wash again with normal shampoo and it’s gone. It’s brilliant! It lifts my blonde hair to a gorgeous clean blonde with silvery tones, and once a week maintenance is all I need. I even once had a dye disaster which have me the dreaded brassy root glow. - this stuff calmed it right down. This shampoo doesn’t dry out my hair like the other purple shampoos I’ve tried previously and I actually use it alongside the matching conditioner. It makes my hair feel super-soft and even though my hair is fine, it doesn’t weigh it down. I honestly won’t buy any other purple shampoo & conditioner now and I have already re-ordered more!

Beter than other similar top products but not the best at the first use
Didn’t erase all yellow in the first attempt even if i put the shampoo twice, first time on dry hair, second after washed hair. Probably next time will come almost clean white. On porous is already white, the rest no. I want to mention the roots are bleached and coloured ! Good product, though! I already tried Fanola and Fudge clean blonde this one is more powerfull

Great price, effective product, staple product for cool blondes
After using many purple shampoos on the market (including some very pricey ones), I decided to buy this a couple of weeks ago and didn’t realise how much of a staple this would become in the hair routine. I love it. I previously used on my hair to achieve an overall cooler tone to my balayage, which worked great. However, recently I did my roots at home (with help from a family member who is a hairdresser) due to lockdown and my roots went a little orangey. After one use this shampoo took out these brassy tones and achieved an overall silvery look to my whole hair, I didn’t even have to use a toner. If used weekly for 5 minutes this can rid any yellow tones and keep blonde hair looking freshers for longer. However, for those out there wanting to achieve a more overall silvery look, by adjusting the leave in time to 10-15 mins this is attainable and the difference is noticeable straight away. Because each hair reacts differently I would definitely suggest (as the instructions state) to build a tolerance to the shampoo, with first use having a low leave-in time (I had it on for 3 minutes the first time and still noticed a difference). This will also minimise the chances of turning your hair a more violet colour as opposed to blonde! Also, wear gloves - this stuff is the strongest I’ve ever tried on the market and can stain hands and finger-nails if not careful (& towels!). Overall; great price, effective product, perfect for blondes aiming to cool down their brassy tones or lengthen time in between root refresh’s at the hairdresser (hell do we need that right now). The only downside is, this product can be a little drying so I would recommend a weekly mask to minimise effects. The photos attached are 1) before 2) after 3) after in different lighting.
