Nice construction, work great
I purchased these to place on top and bottom of one of the two 2x4 framed doors I placed on my backyard shed. The post is nice and long, so it easily accommodated the gap I have between the door and the frame. There is an 'open' catch so you can keep the pin lifted up for the door to swing freely when not in use. Probably in the description, but I didn't remember that as a feature when I installed these, but very happy it is there. Because of how I framed the door, I needed one of the metal catches to be flat. The metal is pretty thick (well constructed!!) so I couldn't hammer it completely flat, but certainly flat enough--not disappointed at all in having to mod that or in how it turned out. Thee are well made and I can't see how they will fail any time soon--i anticipated *many* years of use, like they will likely outlive me. Easy to install. I did use some longer screws than those provided for greater holding power and since I had the thickness of 2x4s to work with, that is possible in my installation. The threads on the provided screws are wide/coarse so they are probably ample if you had to work in constraints of thinner material. Very happy and would purchase again.

Great product
Work very well. Used on the gates on my pontoon boat. I'm sure they will last way longer than the plastic garbage that was on there. We'll made and very easy to use.

5 inch latch pin- the black paint is ok but the metal bracket is very thin, looks nothing like the picture. I would not use these for a metal trailer with a heavy gate.

Easy and secure for a great price
These are very sturdy and easy to install. The screw holes were large enough for me to use the exterior screws I was already using to help anchor them in the studs of the chicken coop we're working on. I'm using them on the doors. They'll be easy for us to open and should outsmart the raccoons.ย Price was amazing. I can't find anything that sturdy in local stores.

No rust and good function
Iโve waited about 2months before writing a review to see how it would hold up to the elements. I installed two latches on outside cedar doors exposed to sun and rain. So far so good. No rust and they look as good as day 1. Would recommend.
