DK Eyewitness Australia (Travel Guide)

Quite comprehensive, full of photos, maps, diagrams, and all sorts of information

Eyewitness did a decent job this time. I usually get Eyewitness due to the amount of photos in the guides. It gives me ideas for my own photographs. The bad thing about this guide is that it's for ALL of Australia; you won't find a lot of information on the smaller cities like Cairns or Great Barrier Reef. The guide itself as always has a small and bad selection of food recommendations. The rest of the guide itself includes the history and tells you about the main highlights. It never takes you off the beaten trail. For a general idea of the surrounding area and to help start plan your trip, this would be a good guide. If you want something more serious, just search around on the internet. The authors of these guide books most of the time have never visited the sites / country [heard this directly from someone that works in the industry].

Great book!! Very useful for traveling around. Has maps and tips for popular areas. Also includes information about the aboriginal culture and history, although there could have been more. Australia is huge, so hard to fit it all in one book! Great effort, would recommend for new travelers.

We love this guide to help plan our trip to Australia. Advice is solid, the itineraries are excellent and we feel like we'll maximize our time and adventures on our upcoming trip. Superior to other guides we checked out.

Great pocket guide to have to self explore everything Australia without resorting to pricey tour guide trips.

Love all the DK series. Easy to read and filled with a lot of information.Durable cover so it you take it on the vacation with you it will hold up.

This guide was a gift to a granddaughter but every other DK Eyewitness Travel Guide i've ever used has been first rate.
