and the SSD itself is Metal and not plastic like many other lower cost SSDs
Mini review on the 250gb F710 FaSpeed Drive.Drive arrived quickly via Amazon Prime, On opening the packaging you are presented with the instruction manual and the SSD itself in 2.5" form factor. The manual is well written and not in the usual Engrish format, and the SSD itself is Metal and not plastic like many other lower cost SSDs.Before installation I opened the drive to have a look at the internals, inside there appears to be a Toshiba th58tft1t23baef nand, which is used in drives such as the Plextor M9Pe 512gb. The controller appears to have been rebranded and im not sure as its actual make or specifications. Due to this unknown controller I did not have high hopes for this drive.Well.... I was suprised, Read/Write speeds are FANTASTIC, both well into the 500MB/s range, I could not be more happy! This drive is £60 and currently the cheapest 240gb+ SSD on Amazon, and absolutly pastes the other drives in this price bracket.I hope this review is informative enough , and I would recommend this drive over the other drives in the same price bracket.

Roughly 7 time faster than my 2011 stock Mac Mini Disk.
I was looking for a quick way to speed up my mid 2011 MacMini, and thought this looked like the way to go, one of the cheapest 120g SSD's available.Read write speed of the stock 500g Toshiba HD was around 50mbs so not very fast, boot up into Yosemite took around 45seconds.using a MacMini Data Double (available through Amazon) i swapped out the drives added in the Faspeed F510 and then used some terminal jiggery pokery to create a DIY Fusion drive.reinstalled the OS, fired it up and all worked well with a much faster MacMini to boot.New read write speed as you can see from the pic below are around 7 times faster than the original HD boot time is around 25 seconds, very happy with this.

2 Months Later: It's Definitely Worth The Money I Spent on It
A very nice, easy to install SSD. I bought this as I was upgrading from my slow 1TB hard drive. Installation was a quick and easy process, you just plug it in and turn your computer on. I installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 64-bit on it which was a very fast process, the operating system took about 15-20GB of storage space so I was left with plenty to install software on. After installing various software and a couple of small games on this SSD, I am now left with about 40GB.Here are a few advantages to this SSD:----------------------------------------------------- Boot times have reduced by a lot.- File transfer speed is very fast compared to a hard drive- Programs load quickly- Small size so you can install it in laptops- It is compatible with SATA 2 motherboardsMy Recommendations----------------------------------------------------- The 120GB SSD is better suited for installing your operating system and some other software. Avoid installing big games such as Battlefield 1 on this drive because you will run out of space very quickly.- IMPORTANT ---- Before installing Windows 10 on this SSD, make sure you have AHCI enabled in your motherboard’s BIOS. Enabling AHCI in the BIOS will have Windows 10 installed with AHCI enabled within the operating system to take advantage of the SSD’s speed. Before I enabled AHCI I was getting 220MB/s transfer speed, after enabling AHCI I got a big boost in performance and now I have 280MB/s.NOTE --- My SSD is currently installed on a motherboard supporting SATA 2 not SATA 3. SATA 2 max speed is 300MB/s, as you can see from my screenshots the SSD is just about 20MB away from the max speed of SATA 2. I can’t say how it performs on a SATA 3 motherboard because I haven't tried it.

Laptop now detected drive and it booted fine. I installed all the updates and software I ...
Drive was not detected by laptop when using as a replacement for the old standard HDD.Plugged into dektop PC using external SATA connector and it was detected. I installed Windows 8.1 onto it with no problem but laptop still would not detect the drive.I had to delete all volumes on device and try again (this time I installed Windows 10).Laptop now detected drive and it booted fine. I installed all the updates and software I needed.Tried to restart laptop and again the drive becomes unbootable.Force powered off and restarted, boot was fine, but again failed later on after another restart. The drive is very unstable and unreliable.I made sure that the laptop was seated correctly in the HDD bay and that the SATA connected was firmly connected so it wasn't an issue there. Not sure why this kept on happening.Have chosen to return the device for a full refund. Not worth going for an unknown brand.(reason for 2 stars is because when it worked the speeds were ~530mb read and ~380mb write. Much higher than expected.)

This was fine when I first installed it
This was fine when I first installed it, but after around a week or two of very light use the drive just started failing and then the system was unable to detect it.

Got this to replace the boot drive on a Windows ...
Got this to replace the boot drive on a Windows 7 PC, which was a lot more straight forward than I feared. It's still an older computer but the speed boost makes it feel brand new. For under £45, a lot cheaper than a new computer, plus the old drive is now filled with games.
