Hi This is not self adhesive tape, we do have self adhesive butyl tapes available if required. This tape is for tanking, you apply liquid membrane in the corners and place the tape and corners, ready for over coating with the SL17. There is no need for self adhesive tape, unless you are joining to Shower tray. Isomat Butyl tape should be used in that situation.

You DRENCH this tape in the liquid rubber compound that is the main component of Wet Room Talking Kits. The thick liquid comes in 5L or 7.5L buckets. You paint a first coat of the liquid rubber onto every inch of the target area and while still wet and sticky you offer the tape into all the corners and joins, then cover the tape with a second coating and let it dry. Come back the next day and cover the entire area in the liquid, the more coats the better. This tape has mesh on either side of the central strip, that mesh is what grips to the liquid rubber. Great stuff.

If this tanking tape is not self adhesive, what is the recommended way of sticking this tape to joints prior to tanking / tiling ?

It’s for waterproof the joints of tile backer board, not plywood like other answer. Plywood isn’t waterproof so no point using plywood in a wet room.
