Only second time I've ordered vanilla beans and these are by far the very best ever! Super fresh as the smell is unbelievable. Nice and plump too! In comparison to other vanilla beans they were very reasonably priced. I would not order anything else other than the bourbon beans. Very happy with them.

Making vanilla

These are very good Grade A vanilla beans. They are plump & pliable with lots of flavor. I made vanilla pudding with one – yum. They are not the longest, most plump Grade A beans I currently have in my cabinet but they are good quality.The difference between Grade A & Grade B is that A has a higher moisture content & are best used for quick infusion – like making crème brule, vanilla ice cream, vanilla pudding, etc. Grade A can also be used for making extract, etc. Grade B is a little drier but still delicious & good for a long extraction time. Grade A is also a bit more perfect looking – B can have some defects in how they look.Madagascar beans have a rich & slightly woody flavor while Tahitian are more floral in flavor.

The vanilla beans were exactly what I expected . They were perfect , fresh and worked great in making vanilla extract.
