Works well for light springs
Bought this to change out springs on our Honda Talon SxS and it worked well. There were no instructions on assembly but it is fairly self explanatory. I had to swap the two little "hooks" that hold the springs to get it to work correctly. It holds the spring compressed automatically which is a nice feature. Over all a very good value compared to more expensive units and saved me a lot of money verses taking it to a shop that charges over $100 an hour!

Get used to it
Easy to assemble. Easy to use. Very heavy. The arms could have a little more curve to them to get a better fitment/use of the sliding hooks being placed on the springs. But, No issues with being used on 8 struts so far.

Poor quality
This spring compressor is not that great. Poor quality, casting has air pockets and spring hold downs keep moving no matter on adjustments. But I guess that’s what I get for going low budget. I would have returned it, but the shipping cost is almost as much as I paid for it.

Hand Operated Spring Compressor Tool.
This spring compressor works amazingly. For the price, you can't beat it. Sure you can spend 4 times as much of you want one to use daily in a shop. But for the occasional home use, this tool is great. I have already used it to swap put OEM shocks on 2 RZR's with Shock Therapy Springs...Flawless job. Already have another friends RZR that were gonna swap Springs on soon, and well as a possible spring upgrade on my Truck. Totally Recommend this purchase.

Works Good
I bought this to work on my BMW but the struts on my BMW have little tabs. So it doesn't really fit them, but I can use it for the struts from my F-150. You just need to look at your struts and if they have tabs they might not be able to clamp the strut. Other than that this tool works great. It's easy to compress the springs and release the springs.

Make sure you have enough clearence between your shock body and coil.
The tool is is pretty good at safely compressing springs. The only downfall is it wont work if the coil is narrow And the shock body is wide. The arms of the tool end up hitting the shock body before you can compress it enough. Still, it gets a solid 4 stars for the value. The name brand spring compressors sell for 10 times as much and up.

Scary but works.
This has got to be one of the scariest tools next to conventional screw type spring compressors I have ever used. That being said, for the money and the practicality I would highly recommend this purchase for the back yard mechanic who occasionally compressed struts. Ease of use is a bit sketch but it does what it is intended to do.

Potentially Dangerous Assembly
The spring compressor is of decent quality and, for the price, perhaps even good. The issue I have with the product is that the bolts holding the upper arms onto the main pillar, and the lock nuts holding the whole upper bracket onto the main post were not properly tightened. I had a spring mostly compressed when one of the nuts on one side of the upper arms came loose and the arm twisted. Thankfully the spring did not come free, otherwise it could have resulted in serious injury and damage. I suppose I should have known better, it having been fairly low-cost, but I would expect the assembly to be properly performed, even if not made from the highest quality materials. If you are buying one of these, be sure to very securely tighten all bolts prior to using. Also note that, depending on the mount design of your shock/strut, this device may not work for you (it will not work for Mercedes-Benz struts due to the mounting bracket location).

Poor product
Waste of money. Product broke after one spring on the handles and clamps. Poorly made.
