Thick Candle Wood Wicks (0.75 x 5.12 inch) – A Great Choice for Candle Making
If you’re a candle-making enthusiast looking for a natural and aesthetically pleasing wick option, these Thick Candle Wood Wicks (0.75 x 5.12 inches) are a solid choice. Designed for larger candles, they provide a unique crackling sound that adds a cozy ambiance to any room. After testing them in different wax types and jar sizes, here’s what I found:Pros:✅ Great Burn & Strong Flame – These wicks create a steady, beautiful flame that works well with soy, paraffin, and beeswax blends. They burn evenly and produce a pleasant flickering effect.✅ Cozy Crackling Sound – One of the standout features is the soft crackling sound, reminiscent of a fireplace. It enhances the overall sensory experience of using homemade candles.✅ Good Thickness for Larger Jars – The 0.75-inch width makes them ideal for larger candle containers, preventing tunneling and ensuring a more even burn.✅ Easy to Use – They come with metal wick clips, which makes securing them in the container hassle-free. Just ensure you trim them to the right height before lighting.Cons:❌ May Require Double-Wicking – In some wax types (especially 100% soy), a single wick might not provide enough heat for full melting. Doubling the wicks can help, but it requires some experimentation.❌ Wick Preparation Needed – For best results, pre-soaking in melted wax and ensuring a firm attachment to the base is necessary. If not prepared properly, they may extinguish prematurely.❌ Not Ideal for Small Candles – Due to their thickness, these wicks are better suited for medium to large jars rather than small votives or tea lights.Final Verdict:These wooden wicks are a great addition to any candle maker’s toolkit, especially if you enjoy the crackling ambiance they provide. They work well with various waxes but may require some testing to find the perfect combination for your candles. If you’re making bigger candles, these wicks are a great choice. However, if you’re working with smaller containers or pure soy wax, you might need to experiment with double-wicking or using a thinner alternative.Overall, a solid 4/5 – great for larger candles, but with a slight learning curve.Would I buy them again? Yes, especially for larger soy or beeswax candles! 🔥🕯️

Very nice wicks
I am using these wicks in soy candles. I followed the instructions and soaked them in olive oil and doubled them up in a 3” container. For my first attempt, I used the last of some soy wax that I hadn’t been very happy with, lots of air bubbles and ugly tops that I had to take the heat gun to. The wicks performed well, burned well, good melt pool, but little crackling. For my second attempt, I had ordered another wax, definitely higher quality than the previous one, and again these wicks performed well, but now with very nice crackling. I will definitely order these again. If you have issues, my advice is to spend a bit more $ and get a quality wax.

Excellent Wick!! Absolute Novice and worked great!
The media could not be loaded. So, I’ll first say that I am no candlemaker. I’m not doing this for a small business or anything. Really, I love candles and I wanted to put together some candles that the wicks had burned down but there was still wax in them. I also had a larger candle (pictured/video with a fan on high) that needed to be re-wicked because the wicks would get flooded by the wax. These came to me pretty quick. And I followed the advice of doubling them up. I put them in the same orientation as the old wicks and probably with these I could have gone with three. They are longer than the old ones. But they burn wonderfully and I love the sound.I didn’t presoak them in anything. They haven’t gone out and I don’t even think I cut them correctly. But am I happy? Absolutely. 10/10. Would buy again.

Wooden candle wicks
Wooden candle wicks are a game-changer for candle lovers! They create a cozy ambiance with their soft crackling sound, reminiscent of a fireplace. They also provide a steady flame and a unique aesthetic that elevates any candle. However, proper trimming and maintenance are key to avoiding uneven burns. Also, they work best with specific waxes, so it’s worth experimenting to find the right combination. Overall, they’re a stylish and soothing upgrade from traditional wicks!

I have to remake a whole batch
These are thin and don’t burn evenly. The flame is always very weak. We’ve tried trimming at several different lengths and get the same or worse results. Sometimes they go out immediately after being lit. I didn’t test them before I made a batch of 24, and now I get to melt them all down again and try to swap for better wicks. One positive: they do crackle.

Nice Wicks that Crackle
I searched and searched for wood wicks and I feel these worked perfect for making homemade candles! They do crackle. I only used one wick and didn't soak them in oil. I feel they worked well and seem pretty sturdy.
