T1-400ALK

After one week of use, I’d like to share my experience and explain why I chose this particular reverse osmosis system over others. There were two main reasons for my decision: 1. Filter flexibility (ALK to T33 option). This model allows you to replace the Alkaline (ALK) filter with a T33 carbon filter if needed. I wasn’t completely sure whether I would prefer alkaline water long term. With this system, I can simply swap one filter and get 0 ppm water if I choose. That flexibility was very important to me. 2. NSF certification. This system has internationally recognized NSF certification, which can be easily verified on the official NSF website. Unlike some brands that only pay for one-time testing, this certification provides ongoing credibility. For me, that really matters when it comes to water quality and safety. Packaging & Installation: Everything arrived well packaged and protected. The box includes many additional fittings for different installation scenarios — various tubing sizes and even the option to connect the system to a refrigerator. The instructions are clear and detailed. Installation took about 1.5 hours. The most difficult part was drilling a hole in the countertop for the faucet. I had to buy a diamond drill bit for that. My advice: buy a good-quality bit and watch a YouTube tutorial before drilling. I was surprised to learn that: 1. You need to keep the drill bit wet while drilling. 2. You should start drilling at a 45-degree angle. The unit itself is compact and doesn’t take much space under the sink. Water Quality Results Before installation, my tap water measured 176 ppm. After installation, it measured 70 ppm, because the ALK filter adds beneficial minerals back into the water. After one week, I performed a 14-parameter water test with the following results: Hardness: 50 Chlorine: 0 Iron: 0 Copper: 0 Nitrate: 0 Nitrite: 0 Calcium: 0 Total Chlorine: 0 Fluoride: 0 Alkalinity: 40 Carbonate: 180 pH: 7.5 Lead: 0 Bacteria: 0 Overall, the results are very reassuring. What I Would Improve I would like to see better filter replacement indicators. The current system for tracking filter life is not very informative. A clearer indicator or built-in reminder would improve the user experience. Overall Impression I am satisfied with this purchase. We drink this water daily, cook with it, and wash food with it. So far, the system performs as expected and gives me confidence in our water quality.

I’ve been using this system for a little while now and overall I’m really happy with it. The water quality is the biggest win. It tastes clean and crisp and way better than what I was getting before. No weird smell or aftertaste, which was important to me. Installation wasn’t too bad and it fit under my sink without a problem. Everything feels pretty solid once it’s set up. The only downside is the flow is a little slow. It’s not a deal-breaker, but if you’re filling up something big you’ll notice it takes a bit longer than expected. For normal use like drinking water or cooking, it’s fine. Customer service was also really good. I had a couple questions during setup and they were quick to respond and actually helpful. For the price, I think it’s definitely worth it. If you don’t mind slightly slower flow, it’s a solid system.

You don't realize how dirty your water is until to you go RO! Recently replaced the refrigerator, but noticed the water didn't seem as "clean/fresh" compared to our old one, also reading reports from out water company although inline with Fed but real close, decided to get RO filter for drinking and fruit/veg final washing. Added the tank as it is connected to both refrigerator and sink on opposite sides of the kitchen. The pipe and fittings it comes with are fine for under sink installations however I purchased extra 1/4 (RO) pipe and fittings (BPA PFAS free they say). Was originally going to install either in basement or closet next to fridge. However, as the fridge needs to pulled from it's cubby out to prevent damaging the doors on the wall, there was enough space to put everything behind it, and also prevent the fridge getting pushed back. (Thanks to the tank). Ran the sink pipe and waste through the basement. Cable tied clean to a cold water pipe to help it cool, connected waste into a vertical sink pipe, will add a T with a shutoff (winter/summer) later to collect waste in outside drum for garden plants (non edibles). Fridge connection was easy as it was already a new plastic pipe so just cut it and added an extra shut off Removed fridge filter (Add TSD to RO - even as new it only took out 10 -20 TDS prior) Fridge works perfect, ice is crystal clear. Before you buy and install: 1) Figure out where you want to put it, it needs a good amount of space, and room to drop filters out. 2) If you can find room for tank, get it and connect the fridge for ice, otherwise what's the point 3) Before connecting pipes make sure they are clean cuts and straight (a very sharp knife works) 4) Make sure you have enough pipe and extra fittings if you install anywhere but under sink(with fridge next to it) 5) FLUSH completely for 20 mins, If you have extra pipe, it might take a bit longer to clean it out (Keep fridge water shut off then flush a few glasses), 6) Check PH and TDS before during flush and after this way you will know it's working and when ready to drink - also smell, parts may have oils from manufacture, keep flushing until it's totally odorless. NOTE: RO is a slow process, the faster it is the warmer the water gets. If it's too warm or too high a pressure it damages the filter membrane. Be patient. We wash all raw veg with faucet water then rinse with RO. For cooking we use RO (sometimes we forget) Complaints from kids - It has no flavor (Chlorine) - add some mint, basil,rosemary - Sink outlet is a bit warm -that's what ice is for For a small investment, feel this is a good health choice. We drink a lot of water (128oz each a day minimum). Most bottled water is RO sometimes with stuff added, (or plastic &chems) this is cheaper and removes pfXs etc. UPDATE 3 MONTHS: 1) No more 'SWAMP WATER' in refillable water bottles. Kids are notorious for only cleaning water bottles when the water is swampy (their definition). This is quite a concern - whatever bacteria was making it through the faucet tap water & fridge filters is no longer present, water bottles remain clean for a very long time. 2) In warmer weather, water at sink is a bit warm so we add ICE when doing final rinse on lettuce 3) Spherical/craft ice on refrigerator slightly off shape (has an added bump on one end), this is due to water pressure. Its a cosmetic thing (a little amusing TBH) Some people have this regardless of filtering!

Setup is simple but not easy. Dont bother installing a dual connector outlet. It comes with a splitter and you have to use it because there is no option for a 3/8” hose. The unit is much larger than it looks. When running it is very loud and if not properly mounted will cause a large vibration as well. You can output about one measuring cup of water before the motor starts running. Tastes fine, TPM meter showed 4ppm good reduction from ~900. Water comes out oxygenated so it looks cloudy at first but settles crystal clear. Outputs water VERY SLOWLY, this is becauss its tankless. If you want speed, you have to use a tank version

Please do not buy this unit. If you want a headache under your sink, then go ahead. I have gone through two units in less than six months. The first unit started acting up after about a month. The booster pump would continuously start and stop in a loop. Amazon replaced it under warranty. The replacement unit lasted about four months before it developed another major issue. Water production dropped to almost nothing, with barely any water coming out of the faucet. I replaced the filters, checked the plumbing, and even compared it to my conventional BRS RO/DI system. The BRS system, which doesn’t even have a booster pump, produced more flow, leading me to believe the SimPure has another internal failure. I rely on RO/DI water for my large reef aquarium, so I can’t afford this kind of unreliability. I now have to purchase another RO system because I no longer trust this one. In my experience, this product has been unreliable and I cannot recommend it.

I have been so happy with this reverse osmosis system and it was pretty easy to install the system. I only need a tiny bit of help from my husband🙄. The biggest issue was making space under the kitchen sink which I have too much stuff under there anyway, but overall very pleased with it and it REALLY doesn't take up much room at all under the sink. There is also a disposal under the sink too, so was fairly easy to get it installed with disposal kind of in the way. I drink the water everyday and it has a pH of almost 10, so this is exactly what I wanted, and I did a ton of research before deciding to purchase this one. I didn't realize that 3 of the filters are good for 6 months, and the 4th, the "RO" filter is good for 1 year... So now that I'm familiar with which filters need to be changed, and WHEN they get changed, everything is great! I ordered the 3, six month filters, 6 months ago, and somehow I chose a set of three that did not go to my machine... however two of them did. I called customer service asking what filter goes where, as I was confused, and they sent me out the correct filter at no additional charge to me, and they did NOT require me to return the one that didn't go to my system. So I am very pleased with the customer service aspect as well. The water tastes great, and I keep a gallon of cold RO water in the fridge at all times, for this is the ONLY water I drink. Not only do the "humans" drink it, but also all of our pets, baby silkies, and our cat Phoenix. The spigot that came with the system is great because it's tall and you can twist it over to the side and put a big pot under it and fill it up without holding it. The flow rate is pretty fast however filling up a large pot to boil potatoes can be a couple minutes, it's great that it has the tall faucet so you can fit a gallon jug under it as well as big pots and pans, so you don't have to hold them while it's filling up. Overall I give it five stars 😁. Thank you so much SimPure! ❤️

WHY is it so freakishly difficult to find an Amazon review to edit? Most of the help is either out of date or misses important steps. Whoever planned this aspect in Amazon seems to have had a serious case of dsylexia or some kind of obfuscation disease when trying to put related items together. Update: Heard back from the company. While not yet resolved, it is good enough to restore the rating to 5 stars. For reasons unknown, the unit started to work properly again when I started on the process of uninstalling it for possible return (it is still within the return window). ====== (updated back to 5 stars, but I prefer not to delete content, but let it stand) Update: Dropping to one star. The unit developed a problem. SimPure have not responded at all to requests for assistance in addressing or diagnosing the issue. Unit is unusable at present. ============= We bought the unit that provides pure clean water with no minerals added back. In my testing of it, it delivered on that. The TDS reading was at the lowest limit that my measuring unit is capable of. Installing anything in a kitchen cabinet isn't much fun. This isn't particular to this unit in that regard. It may take quite a while to get it all done, although it is not intrisically difficult. The manual suggests placing the unit within the sink structure. I placed it on a corner of our kitchen island where it is easily accessible from multiple aspects. This turned out to be a good choice for another reason. Water delivery is slow. A cup or kettle can be put on the counter surface, and doesn't need to be held while it is filling. The unit makes noise. To prevent the cabinet from acting as a sounding board, I put some padding underneath the unit and between the fixture to the wall. This results in a level of noise that is useful to let you know it is running. Without the padding, it is rather noisy. As shown, the unit doesn't have a cover for the top. I would have preferred something to have been included that protected the top. The threaded part of the faucet was only just long enough to go through the tile and wooden base. I did not install the upper trim washer, only the rubber one. It looks fine that way. To avoid cracking the tile, a tiny, vertical, pilot hole was drilled between the 4 corners of the tiles. Then a conical shaped abrasive bit was used to wear away the enamel surfaces of the 4 tiles to about 1/2" diameter. Finished off with a combination of masonary and wood bits being careful to ensure it was vertical. No cracks, unit stands straight, all looks good. It needs an electrical supply. You could hook it up to the existing dishwasher outlet with a simple adapter, but probably better with its own outlet. Water without minerals does not have the sweet taste of water with minerals. Totally pure water tastes fine to me. As we use water primarily for tea, coffee, and cooking, it would not have been an issue anyway. We can always provide bottles of water for those that prefer the mineral taste. All in all, it turned out well, and is much more convenient and better performing than the previous filtration. No complaints or problems reported by any other of the household. They adapted to it straight away.

I tried earlier to write about my experiences and evaluation of the SimPure T1-400 UV. I thought that I had submitted it, but I don't see in the reviews, so I'm trying this again. My apologies if it's a duplication. Anyway, I want to share this with anyone interested in self installing this RO system. First let me say that we're very pleased with the customer support we've received from SimPure, and love the results of the water we're enjoying from this unit. I ran into an issue with the SimPure waste water drain saddle that required me to entirely re-plumb the existing P trap to accommodate it. The problem arose because the drain saddle needs a straight piece of ABS tubing to mount it to. I wish SimPure had an alternative drain attachment that was simpler like my old RO system that allowed for more flexible mounting. A more serious problem came up when I installed the feedwater valve. When I turned on the existing cold water valve a slow water leak developed above it coming from the feedwater valve. When I uninstalled the feedwater valve to inspect it, I found that the flat washer had become damaged. I suspect this occurred when I rotated the valve to put the handle in a more convenient position. I contacted SimPure Customer Support and they offered to send my a new valve kit. However, before they sent me the kit I was able to locate a replacement washer at my local Ace Hardware store. I purchased a 79 cent silicone rubber washer that was almost an exact match to the damaged washer. It was 17/32" OD flat faucet washer, Danco brand Part No. 35063 B. I lightly lubricated the new washer with Dow Corning 111 Valve Lubricant before installing it. This time no leaks! After flushing the SimPure T1, I compared the RO water to my city water. City water TDS = 289. SimPure T1 RO water TDS = 2. A very impressive reduction! City water pH = 7.2; SimPure T1 water pH = 8.4. My wife and I love the neutral taste and odorless smell of the SimPure T1 water. I also like the idea that it is UV treated to reduce microorganisms that might be in the system. I do wish that the output were a bit faster, but it's still adequate for our needs. All in all, I think that the SimPure T1-400 UV deserves the 5 thumbs up that I'm giving it.

Just installed it with my husband yesterday. Was not complicated to hook up at all. We didn’t have enough space under our sink so we just used the cabinet next to it and ran the lines through a hole. We had zero issues with the install it was fairly easy with two people. I bought a water tester and the water tested successfully at 0 PPM after I ran it for half an hour as the instructions said. I checked the tap water too just to make sure my device was working and it tested at 36 PPM. The pump is extremely quiet in my opinion, with kids in the house I don’t even notice it unless I open the cabinet door intently. The side faucet it comes with it nice looking and slender. Overall I’m very happy so far with it and I’ll have to continue to test the PPM as the filters age, the little device is only $10 its probably worth getting for maintenance purposes.

I’ve now been using this product daily for 2 years and using water testing devices to verify quality. This product is very good, works well, and produces pure, clean, great tasting water.

If you are thinking of buying one I would! It seems to work very well and the few issues I had were taken care of by the best customer service I have had in years. Anything wrong new replacement parts are shipped immediately without question .... truly excellent!
