Varilight V-Pro IR 2-Gang 1-Way Remote/Touch Control Master LED Dimmer Light Switch 2 x 0-100W (Max 10 LEDs) Premium White IJDQI102S

I had used an earlier version of this switch several years ago, so I expected no problemsEasy to fit and works fine with 5 x 6w Philips bulbs on each circuit. I bought the matching remote as this is quicker to use than my multifunction controller. 1 star off as the programming is not easy. It took several attempts to get both sets of lights working independently in the same mode.I also have a minor problem. When controlling my TV/home cinema I sometimes get lights flashing on momentarily. Haven't worked out which function does this but as the light don't stay on it it is not a big issue.

I already have this exact type of dimmer installed in my home so am familiar with it, so when i was finishing my extension off i purchased one of these to run two gangs of LED's. The first one when installed by the sparky refused to do anything other than stay on and flicker all LED's. Rang Varilight tech dept, who talked me through it, make of LED's, how many, what wattage etc, and concluded by saying they are faulty. Got a second one, sparky fitted this time exactly the same but only one gang doing it this time. Switched to other gang of lights to check, just the same faulty.

switches are bulkier than the old varilight ones. as a result, it doesnt fit.wasted 2-3hrs trying to install it...fine if your planned location has a 50mm deep box.

They do work as in cause no flickering but quality is poor have already replaced 2 switch's as they got stuck in on position and could not be fixed.

I already have two of these units: They were both easy to install. Setting them up so that both work independently from the remote is ultra-fiddly; but with patience is achievable. the dimming works excellently, with either incandescent bulbs (as in my bedroom) or LEDs (as in my living room). They are modern looking, and having touch-control as well as remote control is very convenient. The only downside (and reason for the loss of one star) is longevity! Both of my units have developed identical faults: i.e.. on each unit, one of the dimmers simply packed up! But the items are so good / such excellent value for money, that I've bought a further two. (My original units both lasted 5 years before packing up)

I called Varilight support before buying to confirm the model / item was the one to meet my requirements.2 gang, one way, to run LED bulbs. One gang is one 9w LED bulb, the other gang is a fixture with three LED 9w bulbs.I installed it, and it has a mind of it's own. Completely unpredictable, won't turn on, won't turn off, steps up and down erratically, flickers, and emits a humming sound. Sometimes it flickers badly. The gang running the 3 x 9w LED's gets warm, which is presumably why it steps up and down, but it's supposedly within its current rating.This is the worse product I've bought for many years, and with the remote, it's not cheap.Completely and utterly unusable. Junk.
