It's a great watch, but the battery can't even last a day and that's extremely inconvenient for a watch.

I work outdoors in all weather in gloves. Being able to get phone notifications on my wrist rather than on my phone is a real treat. I only bought the watch for the emergency call feature as I work alone everyday and this was cheaper than a dedicated lone worker emergency button. I’ll hopefully never use this feature but it’s there for piece of mind should I have a fall or an accident. The screen is small (40mm version) for reading emails, and replying to texts is better done on the phone. Health and sleep tracking seem decent and plenty of watch faces to choose from in the app. Easy to set up, but with loads of customizable options to set it up exactly as you want and the gesture function works nicely for easy access to certain features. I always run the watch in power save mode and can get over 36hrs with light use. Better than the 18 hrs quoted.

We’ve had several other fitness bands and sports watches but when the latest one failed (6th in 7 years) I decided it was time to get my wife an Apple Watch instead. I already have a Series 6 and it’s never missed a beat. Same features but done differently, so she’ll need to play around with it for a while to get used to how it’s all set up. 3 days in and she already thinks it’s better that the others; more comfortable, more features, and much easier to link to her phone and tablet, both of which are Apple items, so it pretty much does it itself! We have discovered the Walkie Talkie feature as well, which performs better than I thought it would… Apple quality is a given, the only thing we don’t like is the need to charge it every day, but you get used to that and it soon becomes routine. I think we’re an Apple family now…
