I set this on a new jar of pickles and watched it open the jar. WOW! Then I did the same thing with a jar of jelly! WOW! And then I did it with a 20 oz coke. But I did have to hold it in place for the small top on the coke. But this thing opened it right up! Wow! Great tool for someone with weak grip or wrists. Recommend

Ordered this jar opener because arthritis started making it difficult to open some jars. We don’t have that many jars to open and the first few jars (maybe 3 or 4) worked very well. Until….. tried opening a jar for dinner and the whole opener got stuck!! Made an awful high pitched sound like the motor was stressing. I immediately removed the batteries and both my husband and myself tried to remove the opener from jar. It was not going to happen. We tried to open the jar. Nope not happening either. Totally stuck! Tried to call customer service and of course it was after their hours. I left a message thinking they’d call back the next day. No call back!! That was on Friday so Monday afternoon I tried to call again. After holding for 6 minutes I was told someone would call back shortly, leave a message. Well another 2 days have passed without a return call. We finally got the opener off the jar and finally got the jar opened as well. Not sure if the opener will work at this point and sadly I can’t return it to Amazon now. Very disappointed at the lack of customer service that the instruction sheet referred me to. I will not recommend this to anyone I know. And by the way, the opener causes the jar to slip quite aggressively when it does work. If you’ve read this entire review, I’d recommend to look at another product.

What an absolute Game Changer for anyone who struggles to open a jar! Could not be simpler to use! I place a non skid mat under it. Be sure to point the little gripper pads on the sides of opener downward. It almost startles me every time it pops the jar lid off! Lol! This is my 2nd one! Apparently I wore the last one out! But I won't live without it! Highly recommend! It does Not work on plastic such as mayonnaise jars but glass is no problem!

I have been pleased with how easy the Higher Torque Electric Jar Opener works. I am replacing the first jar opener I purchased. You need to make sure the jar is in the center of the two brackets. The first jar opener broke because the opener brackets were at an angle on the jar. I decided to replace based on how well it opened jars.

Great little machine, once you get the hang of it. Be patient and it will open jars. Our first one was either defective or had a big issue when test opening the first jar, it slipped up and kept trying to open the jar on an angle, it dented the lid ( wow strong!!), but somehow made the jar body grippers not retract equally and stayed that way. We got a replacement, and it seems fine. I recommend keeping your hand on top of the opener until it fully grips the jar, don't stop holding it down. This seems to have cured it of the weird previous behavior.

This product was just what I needed but fail short on construction. I dont use it everyday but when I did use it the opener broke so sad because I really was glad I thought I had found an extra pair of hands to help when I needed it.it was used to open a jar with the specified round top no only shaped jar
