Wish I would have bought sooner!
I've had this for about two and a half weeks now and I have used it almost everyday. It's amazing. And it fits so much more than you think it will! I have only dehydrated fruits and veggies, no leathers or meats or jerky. I do not follow the "recipe" book they give you, the times and temps are wrong. It comes with 8 trays (very easy to clean by hand), 4 silicone mats (work great and are super easy to clean), a drip tray (plastic), 2 plastic containers with lids (not sure why they included these), and 2 silicone mittens. I couldn't find anywhere what was included on this listing so that's why I included everything above, it also doesn't say what's included once you receive it in the recipe book or in the instructions). I haven't had to use the mittens but they do work I tested them when I had used our toaster oven. I haven't added lemon, citric acid, salt, or anything else that everyone claims you need to add so the fruit or veggies don't brown. I do steam blanch the veggies I dehydrate and I only use organic fruits and veggies. Idk if that's why they aren't browning? I have no idea! But I've done bananas, apples, pears, watermelon, beets, cucumber, rainbow carrots, baby carrots, sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts (they are my little boys favorite 🐾🐾), green beans, cauliflower, broccoli, pumpkin (fresh not canned), butternut squash, kale, and zucchini. None of them have browned even a little! I do use a mandolin and slice most of them at 1/4 inch. I cubed the butternut squash.I do recommend storing in mason jars with food grade desiccant packs. Of course you can use vacuum seal bags as well without the desiccant packs. It's just my recommendation to add them in. I've seen a lot of posts saying they aren't necessary, but they give me peace of mind since I am such a newbie! (And you can reactive the desiccant packs making them reusable!)I did also buy an attachment for our vacuum sealer to get all of the air from the mason jars, it comes with the regular size and wide mouth size and it works great (little tip, moisten the rubber ring, mine is blue, if you use the mason jar attachment, it will save you a lot of time and frustration). I also keep everything in a bottom cabinet out of direct light.Something else I recommend, especially if you're new to dehydrating like I am, is a wood moisture meter, yes I know I probably sound like a crazy person, but it really works and helps! The one I bought is by the brand Erickhill (model - EWM01 even comes with batteries). The prongs are less than an inch apart which is why it makes it perfect for checking dehydrated food! Use it on the lowest setting and it will give you the moisture content (just make sure you let whatever you're dehydrating cool down first, for a more accurate reading).I haven't had any problems, besides wanting to dehydrate anything and everything! I bought this so that I can make healthy treats for my little boy 🐾🐾 and also for my husband and I. Buying a food freeze dryer is next on my wish list, time to start saving (they are quite a bit more expensive, haha)!!! I haven't used it yet for dog treats that aren't single ingredient fruits or veggies but I do plan on using it for those as well. You won't be disappointed with this dehydrator, it's so easy for a newbie! Like I said I just got this about two and a half weeks ago and have no prior experience! Just a mama trying to be healthy and make healthy snacks where I know all the ingredients! :)I know this is a lengthy review, being a newbie myself I had so many questions running through my head! I hope the info I provided is helpful! I did so much research on what is the "best" brand dehydrator and ultimately decided to try my luck with this one and I am so happy I did! Happy dehydrating! :)

Easy to use and the amount of trays is very good
I tested this out making one of the gyro meat jerky recipes that is in the accompanying booklet. In my case, I used the higher prep temp in the regular oven, then the shorter and higher temp time in the dehydrator and it worked out great. It's simple to set both with the dial mechanisms. It also runs pretty quiet - I barely noticed it while watching TV in our open floor plan.I set it sideways toward the front of my ceramic stovetop so I could ensure the 12" clearance, per recommendation in the instructions. The instructions are easy to follow and the post clean up was not a problem at all.Since this only comes with a few silicone mats, I did order an extra set of those so I have enough for every tray. It would be nice if this came with enough for every tray - the small bundled cost increase would be worth it IMHO.The unit itself is fairly light so it's easy to move around and put away, even though it's bulky by its very nature. When veggies are in season, I plan to dry those for use in soups during the winter, and I definitely plan on trying some of the other jerky recipes in the near future.

The best bang for your bucks "DEHYDRATOR"
I did a lot of research before deciding to purchase this dehydrator. This dehydrator has all of the important features such as: Auto shut of, overheating protection, digital display knobs, sturdy construction, lots of space, easily to clean, plenty of power (800 watts), even dimensional size racks, and its very quiet. It also can be turned up to 194 degrees temp. Did my first batch of beef jerky and it turned out perfect. No rotating the racks and cleanup was a snap. My only complaint is there is no interior light.

Update: Outstanding Customer Service!!
Update: 11/02/23I've updated my rating from 2-Stars to 5-Stars primarily because Septree notified me of their concern and to ensure my total satisfaction proposed a very generous offer. Actually, I declined their offer.I with a little effort was able to straighten out the damaged corner that had resulted in wobbling and not sitting level and stationary. Not 'pretty' but you need to turn the unit upside down to see the original damage and repair. The unit works perfectly. And on the door being off issue, upon closer inspection I realized that was intrinsic in the hinge design and there are molded in three small ribs that force the door up ever so slightly when closing it so that the door closes level. At this point, I'm satisfied with the unit. Have used it a couple of times now and it performed flawlessly. So add in the excellent Customer Service response and offer, I'm confident in saying that no matter what, you'll be quite satisfied with your purchase of this Septree dehydrator. The machine will work to your 100% satisfaction or Septree will do whatever is necessary to make things right.========================================================================================Original posting:This arrived promptly as scheduled. Opening the box and removing the unit I must say, I was impressed with how well it was packaged. The unit looked like decent quality and attractive should one plan to place it in the open in one's kitchen. At that point, I set it aside on my dining table and decided to read through the accompanying User Manual and the accompanying dehydrating recipes booklet. The User's Manual was mostly about food safety and best practices. The recipes booklet is pretty simplistic and one will need to seek out more online. So I sat down and took a closer inspection of the unit with the intent to wipe it out and the grilles with a damp cloth and then run it once for the break-in, and then have some fun with a first run of making beef jerky. Almost immediately I noticed that the unit was a bit wobbly on my table. Odd I thought as my table I assumed didn't have any low spots, so moved it over to my kitchen counter. Same issue. That's when upon closer inspection I discovered what you see in the first two pics attached here.Well I really didn't want to return it and wait on a replacement and being mechanically adept decided I'd see if I could tweak that back to even. At that point, I removed the back panel to gain access to enable me to apply some pressure to straighten out that dented surface. In the end, I was successful and while not cosmetically perfect, it now sits just fine with no wobble. Good ready to get going!!That's when I noticed as I opened and closed the door that it caught- rubbed on the molding along the bottom. In other words, it didn't simply close shut. I had to apply a slight upward lift as I closed it in order for it to shut securely. What I realized upon closer look is that the door is not hung/installed level. Hopefully, the two pics attached show the spacing along the hinged side of the unit and you can see that the space, the gap is wider at the top vs. the bottom point. This problem, however, is not 'fixable'. The hinge point is fixed with no way to adjust that. ;-(I was really looking forward to getting this dehydrator having already purchased and returned a very popular competitor unit here on Amazon. I think or have assumed that this unit with a more powerful motor and fan system vs. the other competitor's dehydrator, likely would be a more solid product. Now I'm not so sure. :-< Maybe I'll sit on this a couple of days before returning and see what if anything the vendor has to say about it.
