Big city commuter DC
DC commuter here! Best investment I made to save myself time to and from the metro station leaving my car at home! Before buying this the reviews on the breaks almost made me not get this scooter. Please know all the ppl saying the breaks are too harsh have never driven a car before. You do not ever break hard in or on any vehicles. The breaks are smooth when you apply them smoothly. Yes if you slam the breaks hard you will stop hard. Typical physics. I’m very pleased with the breaks and the overall ride. Air was needed for the tires out the box but I was still able to do 2 rides after unboxing. This is where a portable air pump for my car came in handy. The 19 mph feels fast when riding. It does drain my battery a bit with the amount of hills in DC & MD + my weight (210lb 5’11 female). I do about 5.6 miles (42 minutes round trip) commuting and I usually get home with 1 battery bar left from a full charge on Sport mode. Light on the scooter is good at night to see all the city pot holes. Definitely recommend this especially if it’s on sale! Great ride and no issues so far. I’ll be buying back up tires to have on hand asap! Can’t believe I didn’t invest in this sooner.

Do not buy
Dual motors is great on a scooter and it makes acceleration very fast and easy, but thats where the pros end. This scooter is extremely unreliable, the first time I purchased it the tire blew a hole near the stem making repair impossible, had to return after only a few weeks of use. The second time and my last time buying this I only had a chance to use it for less than 2 weeks and the scooter stopped wanting to turn on consistently which made driving it dangerous in the street. Would not recommend this scooter for anyone.

Best budge scooter!
I love this thing! It is fun to ride around and very fast! Throttle response is really sensitive and it gets me moving! Everything works perfectly! However, I would like to know how to connect my phone to it or use some sort of app to connect to it since I see a bluetooth logo on the LCD screen but overall it works, battery life was better than my Ninebot so is range!

Love my Journey Max!
I needed a scooter to complete my commute to work, having to get from a train station to my office across town. I reviewed several scooters and a lot of signs pointed to the Hover-1 Journey Max for its value, power, speed, smooth ride, and ability to climb hills. I decided on the Hover-1 Journey and I'm very glad I did. This thing is awesome. It has two motors so you can select FWD, RWD or both for max power. It rides super smooth and quiet and has cool features like automatic cruise control. It's not the lightest thing, but its easy enough for me to fold, pick up and walk onto a train, or into an elevator with. This morning on my commute, I found myself passing other scooters easily while on a decent incline. Great quality and performance all around. I'm a very happy customer.

It really does climb hills
This is my commute scooter. It's not the most comfortable on bumps, but it's powerful for hills. It also can speed around at a great pace. Battery is reasonable for my commute. It does lose some speed after the battery reaches its end, but it runs along reliably.

Throttle stopped working after a month
Bought this to be a way to get to and from my classes. Was a nice ride and well put together, until a month passed and it’s already brokenTried to take it out and the scooter started throwing up an error code, tried to look in the manual to see what the problem was and it wasn’t written, so I had to research the problem myself because hover 1 didn’t have it writtenTurned out to be a problem with a throttle, and when I looked I noticed that the throttle on my scooter is not even the one that is advertised for this scooter, probably a third party patch job that was never going to last anyway.I should have a warranty on this scooter, at least I put in on the hover website to have a warranty, but the website has you submit your email so they can send you a link and the link never arrivesIf you try to call customer support you get an automated message saying nobody is going to take your call before it hangs up.All in all a terrible product from a bad company.

Rocket. Ship.
I've tried so.. so so many scooters that claim to be hill climbers for "payloads" up to 265 pounds.. and while I'm still dealing with the thought of being referred to as a "payload" ..none but this one could really rip me up a hill. I'm a 40yo guy that weighs about 230 pounds - a combination of baby fat my mother tells me I'm bound to lose sooner or later, and Covid weight gained from a year spent on my couch playing GTA and consuming adult beverages at a fevered pace. That being said. This thing moves. It's fast and fun. It pulls me up hills way steeper then they claim it can, and accelerates hard..But the brakes. They're either on or off. And there is no adjustment for it. It's the regen for the motor/battery. Just learn to lean back when applying them, you'll get used to it. Basically this beauty with throw you backwards, and throw you forwards, but man.. it'll get you up a hill at an alarming pace. Even more so if you aren't a 40 yo, 230 pound dude. You won't get anything better here for inclines. Trust me. No matter how expensive they are. I've tried, and returned them all but this one.

Not reliable
The scooter worked great for a couple of weeks. Good speed and range. Looks cool. Had to replace a tire and replaced it with a solid tire. Don’t. Ruined the ride. Soon after the scooter just started to slow down mid trip. Errors started to pop up. Now it will run normal for 10 minutes then loose all its power and can’t go up hill. Then errors occur. E00 and E02. Sometimes it stops working with no errors. Wouldn’t buy again.
