It works great
I ordered this product as I am trying to "cut the cable cord" I have several Roku sticks but Roku will not give me my local stations. So, I decided to try one of these antennas. Don't know about the others, but this one works like a charm. It took all of 5 minutes to connect it and let my tv search for channels. I was expecting 2 or 3 to show up, instead I found 23 channels, all free, over the air. The antenna pulls them in crisp and clear with no problems at all. I would certainly recommend this product to anyone. Oh, I have this and a Roku device on one tv and when I want my local news, I just switch from Roku to air and back again. The best of both worlds.

Performs well at UHF Frequencies up to 35 miles (definitely not 80 miles), Poorly at VHF Frequencies, Amplifier performs poorly
Like nearly everything else that is made in China, Quality Control in the Manufacturing Process of this item was terrible. See my additional comments below added after my purchase of another of these antennas. |||One disappointment you'll find is that the amplifier provides no significant boost to signal strength. The amplifier also needs to be plugged into a Wall USB Power Adapter (which is not included). This is dumb and inconvenient (and obviously a cost cutting measure by the manufacturer who cares nothing about customer convenience). If you want to use an antenna amplifier with this unit, throw away the one that comes with it and buy the Winegard LNA-100 Boost. It provides a noticeable boost in signal strength with this antenna. Just don't have unrealistic expectations about any antenna amplifier. It can't remove the noise from a weak signal but it might prevent occasional pixelation of a generally decent signal. As many of you may know, the location of the antenna can make a big difference in how well it performs. Even a difference of an inch or two up or down, left or right can make a huge difference in your reception. So finding a good location for the antenna is critical, and can be very time consuming. Unfortunately, everyone's environment is different and some people may be unable to get good reception no matter where they place the antenna. |||Anyone with electronics background knows that antenna size is inversely related to the frequency. And as such, a UHF antenna (UHF Frequency Range is 300 Mhz to 3000 Mhz) is much smaller than a VHF antenna (VHF Frequency Range is 30 MHz to 300 MHz). This is clearly only a UHF antenna (in my opinion) based on it's size and poor performance at VHF Frequencies. ||| This antenna (which is a small 9" x 10" in size) performs reasonably well at UHF Frequencies. Problem is, not all TV Channels broadcast at UHF frequencies. For instance, my local channel 5 is broadcast at a UHF frequency of 521 MHz and is received well by this antenna, but my channel 12 is broadcast at a VHF frequency of 207 MHz and my TV reports "No Signal" from this antenna. ||| Disappointing, yes! But based on the small size of this antenna, I do not find it's VHF performance surprising. What I don't understand is the claim that this is a VHF/UHF antenna. That is clearly misleading. ||| Comparing this antenna's performance to my full size outdoor antenna that is mounted on a 20 foot tower:At VHF frequencies, my outdoor antenna's performance is far superior to this one. But at UHF frequencies with this antenna placed in a window (approximately 10 feet above ground), it performs as good or better than my yagi outdoor antenna on a 20 foot tower. |||ADDITIONAL COMMENTS RELATING TO THE PURCHASE OF A SECOND ANTENNA: Although both antennas I purchased performed similarly, there was still a huge problem with the second antenna I purchased (at least for my intended use). I wanted to make an array of the antennas and combine their signals to further boost the weak signals in my area. Problem is, when doing this, it's extremely important that the length of the antenna feed cable of each be exactly the same, or else the two signals will cancel rather than complement each other. Due to poor quality control by the manufacturer, one antenna's feed cable was 13 feet long and the other was 16.6 Feet long. That difference made my intended use of the two antennas impossible.

Antenna works extremely well - small annoying challenges to install
I live near a dense urban area (1 mi from DC) so I expected to pull in a lot of channels. I did...over 50 of them (many of which I don't know who they are because of the way the TV recognizes them - but that is not the fault of the antenna). A friend of mine installed this in their home which is further away and at the bottom of a hilly area. It pulled in 12 more channels than his former attenna. He believes it is a function of the amplifier.I installed mine in an upstairs bedroom (classic townhome configuration) and placed it on the window. So far, no hassles with the HOA. There reason I gave the product 4 instead of 5 stars are not because of the efficiency of the antenna - cause it works well, I had two small issues. 1. getting the protective vinyl off the stickers (used to hold it to the wall or window). I had to resort to tweezers to get the protective film off. This was the longest part of the install. 2. The instructions are not really very clear. One diagram showed using the amplifier with only one wire attached to the TV. Another shows both cords attached. This clearly needs to be improved. So, if these small annoyances were not there, I would have given the device a FIVE STAR rating.
