I am so pleased with this light! It's replacing an old (really old) Art Deco era glass uplighter that no longer takes modern bulbs. I wasn't sure if the look would be right, but it's even better than the other. Very classy look, which fits in well with a period-style decor.It looks very sturdy and substantial, but it's actually fairly lightweight and not a strain on the ceiling at all.I am using the 40w equivalent LED candle light bulbs, but I was assured by my electrician that 30w bulbs would work just as well, if a slightly dimmer light is desired. However, the 40w bulbs provide just the right amount of light for my medium-sized dining room at dinner parties. Furthermore, the light is directed 5 different ways, so the whole table gets the same amount of light. The bulbs are supposed to last approximately 15 years, so they may see me out!The downside, if there is one, is that this might become a bit of a dust-catcher. However, it should be easy enough to keep clean with an extendable duster of some kind.I haven't had it for very long, but so far I really do love this ceiling light. Very good value for money, in my opinion.
