Pfaff passport 2.0
Reasonable weight for taking to workshops. Good selection of stitches. Not brilliant at quilting, bunched up here and there. The reverse is the most annoying. When you press for reverse it goes an e tra stitchGood selection of stitches. Reasonable weight to carry to workshops as long as you take the cover off!! Not brilliant at quilting, tends to bunch up and have had a problem with the pressure knob. The reverse is a complete pain as it takes an extra stitch forward before it reverses. If it didnt have that horrible habit I would have given it an extra star..Needle down OK and you can hit the foot, pedal to get the needle up.

Oh how I covet thee! (super sad, I know - but totally love it!)
bought this recently through GUR online and they price matched, managed to secure for £389 plus swapped out scissor pack for extra feet. OVER THE MOON - so much so - I don't know what to make next! OK yes, the house work and washing need doing - but all I want to do is sew! Ok - need to feed kids and cat - but thats a given. Portable and light weight enough to move from hogging kitchen table to putting it on the sideboard for our mealtimes. Don't know why other reviewer said it weighed a tonne! - It is lighter than my last portable, but then I dont carry it around for miles and miles, just from surface to surface and I have severe joint problems. Stiches are smooth and perfect, and with GUR you get 10yr warranty from them and 5yr from Pfaff. Love it love it love it.

Pfaff passport 2.0 rubbish
Does'nt do what it says. Have had rubbish results with this, mite as well have bought a cheaper machine. It's ok on thick fabrics but no chance of decent hemming of stretch materials. The book is rubbish too. Heavier to carry than it portrays in ad, lady must be swinging an empty case. Went back to the shop with it for them to show me how to set it but they said the sewing was acceptable. No chance of decent zig zag unless you stabilise everything that's not mega thick. Wish I'd never bought it. Didn't buy from amazon. Shows you techniques to overcast raw edges, it states make sure the needle pierces the edge on the left side and over casts the edge on the right side. They told me at the shop to sew further in then cut it off cos it won't do that so why make out the machine does this, it's stitch number 06 I'm talking about. Wish I could get my money back, I've wasted that much time on this.

I'm so pleased with this machine!
I had been looking to buy a sewing for around a year but as a complete beginner who only sews the odd seasonal project I kept putting it off! As a result of being an absolute amateur I had never heard of pfaff and i came upon this by recommenation in my local sewing store, having only been recommended to buy brother or a janome by others. Over the 12 months procrastinating I really did my research and found i required a few particular requirements due to making my first quilt, as such, I needed needle up/down positioning, portability to classes and a reasonable throat plate space. It was a toss up between this and the janome xl601 which had very similar features, after trying them both this felt (imo) to be the more sturdy and robust of the 2. The stitches are ace, simple to change between and there are 70 in all which include a few pretty decorative heart and leaf designs. In regard to ease of use it can be operating by a start/stop button or foot pedal, I like the button so much that I've not even bothered connecting the foot pedal! I also actually managed to thread the machine and the automatic bobbin easily! Which is amazing for someone of my limited experience.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this fab little machine I love it!

excellent machine
I bought this machine from Amazon for the purpose of sewing only, as a replacement from a computerised machine which kept bunching.. I have now been using it for over a year and it is perfect for my use. It sews equally well on thin and thick material provided the IDT is on.
