Great tool for non-carpenters!!!
I have no idea how real carpenters frame things, but this tool helped my husband frame a deck with 16-inch-on-center joists. Only regret is that I did not buy two - one for each side! Buy two!!!

It works like it's supposed to
Some other reviews mention that there is a little play in the fit of the 2×4s, which is true, but it's not bad. In fact, all lumber is going to be ever so slightly different depending on where and when you buy it. That's unavoidable. No problem with that. Just push your 2×4 tight against the same side of the groove each time as you nail it off and you have perfection. My only little complaint is the picture shows two jigs, but you only get one. Kind of misleading if you don't read the details. I guess I didn't.Would I buy it again? Well, I'm just an amateur handyman. When I work on large projects, I sometimes need my kids to give me a hand. This jig needs close to zero explanation and zero measuring skills. Anybody can grasp the concept in about two seconds, so almost anybody can quickly give you a hand while you frame up a wall and just as quickly get out of there and back to the video games. But would I buy it again? The way I am using this requires two at the same time, so I would buy a two pack. This isn't the deal I thought it was once you realize you are only getting one.

Works Well, but Could Be Better
The handle would not line up correctly to thread the bolts in, and it's got a little bit of play side to side when framing, but overall it works decent. It didn't save me as much time as I would have liked.

Spot on the money, Time saver
This jig is primarily for speed. If you know your centers already which we assume you do. Then this tool saves you from precision measures and marking your headers for the studs. Just drop and go, drop and go, repeat. Granted a person do this for a living may have a long T-square with all your marks on it to transfer, but this would still be a more compact tool overall and still of use and value. One small thing that is a odd use that I found it will assist with is when you have a twisted stud from warpage. Normally I nail it to the header, hold it with a giant crescent wrench or pipe wrench, and then another person twists it at the bottom plate to take the twist out of it and then punch a nail or screw thru it. That said, with this device it can hold like a wedge and give the extra strength when doing this at the top plate and a single person can twist and nail at the bottom plate. So that is an awesome outside the box use. I really like this because one time I accidently, blasted the edge of my thumb with a nail from a nail gun while holding a twisted stud like this for the first nail. It was only like a 1/4 inch, but it bruised and nicked the bone and hurt really bad for weeks. So, I love finding an out of box use like this. Awesome. I live in the southwest so wood dries rather rapid here and studs will twist quite easily from the heat if not used fast enough in the direct sun.I only deducted one star simply for it really needs a holster hook up or something like that to help make it portable. Maybe even sling adapters like on a rifle, and I simply hate how tools for extra outside normal daily the prices go up on them in general. Thus, the one star is more a personal preference issue. Maybe even a soft case or blow mold plastic case for storage.

Great time saver
This makes framing easier for someone who doesn't have much experience. Or, those who have experiences they'd perhaps rather get past. This is great for homeowners but I think it could also be useful on-site for pros to have a reasonable expectation of accuracy when utilized by helpers. As with any method of measuring, frequent verification of accuracy should be practiced to allow for variances in lumber or any other factor. I find it to be a time-saver and mostly accurate. The device is cast aluminum, so the quality is sufficient to provide long-term usage without too much fussing over weather conditions as it isn't going to rust. I am glad to have it and would recommend it.

Accurate
Ease of use gets better a you use it. Liked how you can just put stuff in it and mail/screw together. No measuring just put in place and add another board. Almost like a plug n play. Speeds up projects and eliminates a tape measure you just keep going. It’s cast aluminum so it’s well built and won’t break.
